Bonjourno From The Sofa........(whilst The Weather Is Pants!)
Hi All,
After cocking up my login, now finally finding the time to join in the merry fun I would like to say hello to the world of Ducati.
I have 2 x bikes. A 2006 749R that I have owned since 2011 and at some point tracked, she is now going back to road trim. I also have an 848 Evo in track trim.
Last track day was Aragon in September this year where some larger machines were humbled....
The 749R was my 1st Ducati. After reading an article in PB on how fantastic they are I jumped in and have never looked back. -

Plan to DIY belts etc myself. Proper excited. Will be my first Ducati. -

Hi
Thanks for the add, I’ve worked abroad for 15 years but now back in the UK.
I currently ride a 2012 848 Streetfighter, which I’ve modded somewhat. Shipped it back to the UK, I’m now trying to register it. -
V4 Just Picked Up A V4s Full
For some reason I've avoided considering owning a Multistrada for decades and maybe it took for me to become a creaky old fart to realise where I've mistepped. Anyway I've had a few Adv /upright road bikes over the years and after my last effort at owning a stupidly fast road bike (H2 SX SE) I've come to realise that for any kind of distance riding these days I need the bars to be higher than (even raised) clip ons. So after making a rapid fek I need to change decision last Saturday I now own a V4S Full and the H2SX SE is gone. . So far I've only covered 50odd miles and need to run it in (arrggh 5 K rpm limit for 600 miles!) but my burning stuck vertebrates are relaxing their grip on the adjacent nerve endings already. The missus will also (hopefully) be happier as the pillion seat/peg ergos appear to be more relaxed than the H2SX so saving her hockey knee from too static bend grief alongside having her butt warmed by the heated seat. -

For Sale 1000ds Motor, Rebuilt/refurbed: Suit Cafe Racer, 900ssie Upgade, M1000 Gt1000 Replacement.
Just completed this rebuild project, couldn't get my hands on a bike at the time so decided to refurb one of these very familiar to me 1000DS motors. This version carries the swingarm bearings in the cases and it's also built with the closer ratio gearbox from the 749 which I prefer and use in my own 1000DS.
New big end shells (measured), main bearings (preload shimmed), gearbox bearing, seals, gearbox shimmed up, clutch pressure plate bearing, clutch basket (4k miles on it), valve guides checked, valves lapped in, clearances set, new belts with new version tensioners, cams dialed in to spec etc.
I can help out with an ecu map to suit a build if required.
Link to full photo album of build including video of it running on a bench test setup:

The motor was initially run up on a new oil/filter combo then drained and replaced with Shell Advance and a Ducati filter. Also the pick-up filter was inspected after the bench...Steve. Nov 5, 2021 Parts, Accessories & Clothing For Sale Read More Views: 3,060 Likes: 20 Replies: 23 -

Cadwell In A Car
I had an interesting experience yesterday.
A mate has a BMW track car and was at Cadwell for the day so invited me down for some ride along laps.
An open pitlane day and a real mix of cars out there.
I always thought Cadwell was too small for cars and I still think for racing it is but for a blast around it’s a great laugh.
What struck me most is how slow the cars looked when watching from the sidelines. But in the car it felt quick and you could feel the g-forces trying to throw you out of the bucket seat!
I was checking the speedo and obviously the car is much slower than a bike on most of the track - but you don’t feel the G-force on a bike as you go through the corners so somehow the sensation of speed is somehow increased in the car. Chris curve gives you the impression that at any moment the grip is just going to give up and send you flying sideways.
The kerb on the exit of Mansfield finally made sense as well! I can see why they put the chicane in for bikes as the... -

Spot of cleaning before putting her to bed. -
Hello All, Thanks For The Add...
I have a few bikes but this is my first Ducati. I bought it sight unseen (but for a start video and some pics) and was not sure of the decision until the ride home. I know I will curse the Gods of carburetor and electronics problems - but after that first ride I understand why people love these bikes so much. -
