June‘21 Is The Best Month Ever For Ducati Which Closes The First Half Of The Year With Strong Growth
June 2021 is the best month ever for Ducati which closes the first half of the year with strong growth
Borgo Panigale (Bologna, Italy), 16 July 2021 – The very positive trend continues for Ducati which, at the end of the first six months of 2021, delivered 34,485 motorcycles to enthusiasts, recording an increase of + 43% over 2020 and + 9% over the same period of 2019.
June in particular was the best month ever for the company with 8,598 units sold worldwide.
The order portfolio (motorcycles to be delivered) is the highest ever recorded by the company at the end of the first half, with + 63% compared to the same period in 2020 and a growth of + 284% compared to 2019.
Francesco Milicia, VP Global Sales Director Ducati: "The month of June was the best-ever for the company, confirming the positive trend that began with the excellent second half of 2020 and with the significant growth in the first quarter of this 2021. Despite the great complexity recorded in the supply sector and... -
749 749s Titanium Termi Silencer Repair (happy Ending)
Hello everybody peeps,
I bought a 749s back in March. It was reasonably priced so I knew it would be needing some work. It was MOT'd (God knows how) so I've been out and about on it and I'm in love.
One of the things needing immediate attention was the split titanium (I thought it was stainless, but I've been reliably informed that because it sparks white when grinding, it's titanium) silencer. Piccies ....
As you can see, its fooked!
I called around maybe half a dozen welders in Suffolk & Essex, whatsapp'd them these piccies and they all said "No can do".
Fine, I thought, I'll get a new second hand silencer. The keen eyed of you will have noticed that its a symetrical silencer. I could only find the assyemtrical variety. Bugger I thought.
My brother in-law suggested I try whojamaflip in Clacton, I gave him a call and he put me onto JCG Engineering. Well this guy, John, has saved my bacon. He couldn't repair the previous rubbish repairs but he could sort out a... -

Wanted One For Years - Bought One
Got my hands on a Marcol Moto Reve Racing Ducati…
A 748 with top yoke numbered 8….I am not sure but I think it might be the only 748 version in 20 as the rest were 996…Maybe someone can help me with this?
It has not turned a wheel in 17 years so I need recommission it but that has started already.
Washed it, stripped body work and tank, removed fuel pump, airbox and turned the engine over by hand.
Hoping to get lots of guidance from you all as this is my first Ducati
Thank you

Proud Dad Moment....
My son has finally started to show some interest in bikes!!!!!! Yay
Up to recently he couldn't care less about motorcycles and when offered the chance to have a little ride on daddies pitbike he ran a mile, his sister had a go though! He didn't like the noise and would never sit on my bikes.
But, yesterday that all changed. He came and sat on the pitbike and wanted to know about all the controls, he pretended to ride it and then asked if he could sit on the RSV4. "Of course Son, knock yourself out"!! He jumped on board whilst it was running, gave it a big fist full of revs and got tucked in. I was a very proud Dad!! (Mum not so!!)
He's only 6 and keeps asking me for an electric bike. I'm seriously considering this but don't what to get him? I don't want to spend a silly amount of money on an Oset as i fear he may only use it once and get bored of it. I need something light, good build quality and relatively cheap. I had considered a mini moto so that i can take him to some... -

Mg-20, The First Folding Magnesium E-bike In The Ducati Urban E-mobility Line
Ducati presents MG-20, the first folding e-bike in magnesium in the Ducati Urban e-Mobility line, developed under license by MT Distribution.
The new MG-20 is nimble and light. The sporting character of Ducati is underlined by its distinctive design, characterized by a fluid and aerodynamic profile, and by the sharp lines of the six-spoke rims, both made with a die-casting technique.
Frame, forks and rims are made of magnesium, a material that ensures lightness and solidity, thus providing maximum performance without affecting impact resistance. The small size of the wheels (20" x 2.125") and the possibility of easily folding the e-bike and pedals make MG-20 the ideal vehicle for urban travel, also convenient for combined use with public and private transport thanks to its minimum size.
The e-bike is equipped with a 250W rear motor capable of recognizing the road conditions, the slope and the force used in pedalling, providing the appropriate level of assistance depending on the... -

Just One Of Those Days….
So I took my old 748 for an MOT today and it absolutely sailed through with no advisories, just lots of compliments! I had it out and thought bollocks, let’s go for a spin….. the engine sounded beautiful, that gearbox was like silk, tagged on to the back of a guy on a Diavel and he wasn’t going to get rid of me, then there was the guy in the bmw estate who cheered me as I overtook him (window down of course!) The prick in the grey Passat that pulled out in front of me tried his best to get out the way, he was fine! I’ve had load of bikes with plenty of bhp over the years but my dear old 748 made my Panigale feel a bit shit today and reminded why I love it…..it’s just so special and makes me happy when I go for my 16.00 ‘motorpint’ at the weekend…forza Ducati and thanks for my dream bike!Mark - Ducati Bournemouth Jun 26, 2021 Ducati General Discussion Read More Views: 1,406 Likes: 17 Replies: 11 -
Selling The V2, Have Bought This!
Too many issues with my v2, but mostly the unbearable heat have lead me to decide to move the v2 on. It’s great on a blast but the heat is such an issue, I’ve had previous Panigale, and 848 etc and none have been in the same league as this bike. At ambient of more than 20 degrees it’s up over 100 degrees engine temperature at the slightest hint of slow speed traffic or 30mph limits.
the upshot put bluntly is that I just don’t ride it enough…
So out the frying pan and Into the fire, albeit one that has a lot longer warranty (3 year on MV’s). I love triples, always have, and have really done my homework and the Euro 4 MV’s seem to be a lot better and I have to say it looks beautifully screwed together.
The bike has done 1k miles, so barely run in -

899 At Last!..the Bst’s Have Arrived….
Finally after over 3 months of waiting ( don’t believe anyone who quotes 6-8 weeks! )my BST carbon wheels were delivered yesterday , these are the finishing touches to my bike,….possibly??
We all know that the rear wheel of the 899 is made of lead, but it’s not until you compare the feel in your hand that the difference sinks in..
A bit of fag packet maths here…
The comparison above is each wheel minus tyre only, so everything’s on the wheels that you need, discs, spacers, sprockets etc, just no tyres….just look at the saving on the rear wheel alone , ……….4.4 kgs!!, that’s mad !
Couldn’t wait to get them on the bike and try them, now I normally fit my own tyres but I just wouldn’t even attempt these, there’s virtually no well in the wheel and the rim bead is pretty big so I was stood outside of C&S tyres in Middlesbrough this morning before they even opened !

916 Ducati 916 Sps - The Imperfection Of Perfection
Hey everyone!
I think we all agree that the 916 SPS is an amazing bike. But it does have a few quirks, doesn't it?
Let's have a look at those -
Greetings From South Australia
Hi all, whilst I do live in Australia I am an English ex-Pat originally from Norfolk.
A month ago I decided to treat myself to a 2010/11 Hypermotard 1100 Evo after being away from bikes for 23 years, (my last bike being a new 748 SP and before that a 916 Monoposto). Over here it is winter so I’ve not actually bothered riding it yet - I’ve gone soft living here! The day I bought this, that afternoon after work I was planning to go and finalise a deal on a 939 HM but this popped up for sale that morning so went and looked at this first - it was as far as I got! Saw it, wanted it
The bike itself has only done 10,600km, and a previous owner has tricked it up quite a bit with various carbon bits, a full Termi 2-1 exhaust along with a PCV and tune. -

Back To Daily Commute
So I failed MOT back in sep 19 and then employed my daughter so had to buy a car so I could give her lift to work. Haven’t taken bike out till this week. traffic in london getting proper shit and my daughter moved out and got her own place so I thought fuck it , let’s get back on the road. Plus when I grow up I want to become mechanic anyway so I thought it would be a good practice.
Rolled her out
Got that chain off
And new one on
new wheel bearings
, pads all around, new battery, tires, oil, filter , all liquids
And fully good to go.
passed MOT with no advisories at the weekend and
so at ripe age of 47 I am back as a commuter ( not in the rain like old days but all sunny days I will be on it)
