Hi Everyone,
Decided to sell my 916 as I no longer ride it and don't want it going to waste. My riding style has moved on since I bought this on 8th November 1994. There was a long waiting list at the time for these, and I got lucky when a famous actor changed their mind about buying. List was £12,500 but I paid £12,000 from Jack Lilley. So, everything is original except braided brake lines, metal quick release fuel fittings, side stand suicide bracket and thick silicone alternator cables. A few bits replaced over the years. Reg/rec, clutch slave, brake lever, clutch, front calipers all new seals etc. Engine out in 2017 for shims, lobes all good. New belts, Fuel filter and internal fuel lines last October. Not many miles since then.
The bike isn't showroom, but it's been looked after. A few scratches. Some minor body cracks, all repaired. The rear stand comes with the bike, and some special tools as well. MoT until November. Ready to ride away!
I'm thinking £9000.

Bumped in to a guy while out on a ride who's 2017 Hypermotard was like new, he swears by turtle wax products especially the graphene-ceramic paste wax so I gave a it a go. Its brilliant, very easy to apply and remove while leaving no residue etc..

Well I've lusted after a Tricolore since they came out. So I eventually found as far as I can see a decent one, v low mileage with some nice DP extras.

As written in my previous post requesting info on buying a multi I thought I’d give my feedback on the one I got,
I’ll start by saying the last thing I was planning was getting another bike but after being offered a multi (which following good advice from you guys I walked away from)I liked the cut of their jib! So fast forward and after realising I had only ever ridden one V twin before which I absolutely hated( mates 749r around snett) and constantly being behind them racing when they’d shit themselves and guys constantly working on them in the paddock I’d rather ride a camel than a Ducati!! So anyway picked up this 1260 multi last Friday, not had a chance to ride it until yesterday, just to say i could have got a V4 multi but for some reason i wanted to give the twin another chance and I’ve already got a v4 so i figured if i hated it i could just chop it in for a V4! Anyway i thought I’d pop over from Hereford to Abergavenny and back just to see what i thought! I ended up...

The old girl turned 75 last Monday as I took a 150 mile ride around Lincolnshire. I had planned on heading into Yorkshire but the wind was bad enough to convince me that crossing the Humber bridge would be unpleasant. The flat sided fairings are very susceptible to crosswinds. One night-time trip up the M62 heading for the 02:15 from Heysham saw us being blown the full width of one lane when the gusts caught us.
Anyway, bought in July 1995 from Danny who bought it new from Kevark Grimsby in Aug 94. He put about 5,500 miles on the clock, the rest are all mine via rides mainly in England, but also France, Switzerland, Italy and more than a few laps of the Isle of Man.
Sleet and carb icing on the Stelvio were interesting. Carb icing on the way home from Mablethorpe Sandraces on winters day was challenging as the throttle refused to close heading downhill towards a roundabout on Louth bypass. Improvisation with the kill switch kept us upright. The limited steering lock required care...

A hard decision to make but I have decided to sell my 1992 Ducati 900SS as I am just not using it as much as I should! I have owned this bike since February 2011. It's a white frame black wheel model.

Currently running FCR 41’s, PureTec Lightweight Flywheel, Front suspension set up and re-valve from MCT Suspension, Rear shock bought new - Shock Factory Unit. Exact start upgraded starter leads, Black Widow exhausts with stainless high level link pipes and mounts, MRA Double bubble screen, New Pirelli Angle GT Tyres (less than 200 miles), Carbon front mudguard and carbon rear hugger, Koso Heated grips with integrated controller (looks very neat and they work well), USB socket (with built-in voltage meter) and DIN socket, Fuel tank recently stripped and new filters, hoses fitted, New original unmolested airbox cover. Pair of 5 spoke Marchesini Brembo wheels, shaved front spokes making them the very desirable lighter versions as fitted as standard to the later 748r and 998r.
Front in very good used condition. Rear is straight but showing some marks. Absolutely fine to use or respray if you are fussy.
There is a front wheel on eBay for £934 on its own and a pair claiming to be off the R (they are not, they are standard 5 spokes) for £1400 plus postage. These at £1175 to a forum member (who’s been here for more than 5 minutes) collected or you pay insured postage.
Front date stamped 02. Rear 01.

Greetings fellow Bikers!
I recently switched to a modern bike, a 2021 MTS 950S.
I still have my ST2 from 2003, and the Triumph TR6R from 1967, which I have owned for the last 40 years. During that period I've also had a 1998 916SPS, and 900SS, both I bought new...and a number of Japanese bikes...
I've been able to do some trips on the 950S already this spring, but winter has hit back and currently weather conditions are not the most suitable for 2-wheelers up here on Latitude 63 (northern Sweden)...
Last photo shows the delivery of the 950S...conditions are slightly better now...

Congratulations to Dan Linfoot and the SERT team. Gixers rule (endurance racing anyway).

I've recently taken the plunge and joined the Ducati throng with a '98 (registered in 2000) 916 Senna.

I've sent her straight to Baines Racing (Silverstone) for belts, service and the once over by someone who knows these bikes inside-out.

I had always assumed I would retire next year age 67, how wrong you can be.
Work and Pensions informed me yesterday that I can retire this year not next, that's going to take a while to sink in.
I'm ok financially, no big bills and some savings, with a few adjustments I'll be ok, sack the cleaners, I can do that, cut down on the insurance and road tax bill, vehicle cull.
I have other projects that will keep the grey matter going, I've had enough of building for sure.
Get rid of the BT landline, sky tv can go, I can get the football on bing, maybe do a couple of shifts in one of the pubs around here.
The bike will get more use for sure, I'll have more time for the odd blatt here and there.
Am I missing something?

Hi everybody, I have started to gather some parts for my 748 reinstatement, new battery and some Metzelers have arrived,
Hopefully come next month we can get back on the road.
I bought it in 2002 for £7250 and its been stashed for years as I bought a Hypermotard but kept it .
Its time has arrived.

Took the R for a first ride, impressions:

Stiff, feels like a race bike, so direct, no slop anywhere.

Engine is bonkers at top end, too fast for road use!

Steering is fast and light but feels planted with it.

Gearbox better using the QS than with clutch both up and down, impressed.

Lovely noise, not too loud

Beautiful

Brakes seem a bit weak, not sure why. Pads have a lot of meat on them, probably original.

So slim, that's why I love the V-twins

Can't see me really stretching it's legs until Cadwell in June.

Insane heat from the exhaust on my right leg

Each part of it seems so well designed and integrated, lovely attention to detail.

Happy with it so far!

My mates take the piss...but if Lamborghinis can use ski-boxes...

(In all seriousness, an extremely practical way to tour... the Givi Monolock plate is bolted directly to a spare rear seat so I can remove the whole lot easily. )

Edit...It's just occurred to me that this arrangement isn't possible on a Desmosedici...
