Pack Your Bags And Just Go
I've always travelled on my bikes, up north to see family mostly along with some tours in Europe. Great thing I'm learning about now though is how easy motorbike camping is - literally strap a home to your back seat and a few trinkets and go for a ride when you have a free day and half. It's epic fun, on your own or with a mate, and leaving it late means you know what the weather will be too and even better you can enjoy the excitement of not quite knowing where you're going to go.
I just got back from a trip to Gloucestershire and Devon, and a ride on the A39 - really great trip for anyone who fancies great roads and a sea view.
What's your plans? UK or abroad? Once in a while or as often as you can? I need tips to help get me off my arse more! -
Things You No Longer See At Work
Having worked in an engineering/production environment, here are some of the things I no longer see at work.
Big round sinks that a dozen men could stand around.
Each locker room had it's own janitor, who worked in there full time.
Smoking at desks, work benches.
Old boys with big brown coats with pens and a 6" rule in the top pocket. Often with a shirt and tie underneath. Although they were hourly paid, blue collar.
Managers who came up from the floor, and were actual managers, rather than some post grad on a fast track.
Paid weekly in cash.
Full on nude calendars. -

748 New To Me 2002 748s
Hi all, Ive just taken delivery of a new to me '02 748S, which I'm hoping to restore to former glory.
Despite being a 2 owner machine and extremely low mileage (paperwork supports the clock reading) it doesn't look like it's seen a spanner for at least 5 years. Judging by the dust and grime build up I'm probably the first person to take a cleaning cloth to it for nigh on 20 years!
Initial inspection is cautiously optimistic, some cosmetics need seeing to, usual fastners need replacing, clutch over has a dent in it, it's had a drop off the stand I would suggest at some point as the nose cone fairing struts have a little chip at the base, the mirrors are scuffed and the screen had a crack in it.
Annoyingly, caked on fly guts have caused a little discolouration in small areas of the fork tubes which I'll have to live with.
Will continue the teardown at the weekend to get some deep cleaning underway whilst building the list of jobs to do.

I kept my old Yamaha 900XJ bought new in 1985 but it doesn’t drive much since I have my Multistrada. It has now 120,000kms.

When It's Your Lucky Day
I picked the 1260S up from InMoto Ducati Croydon the other morning after a service.
When I got home I noticed the "Key missing" warning light was on.
Sure enough, checked the lanyard around me neck and the remote key had gone adrift.
I called InMoto (more in hope) to see if the key had been dropped right outside but no such luck.
A new key was duly ordered (not available until September).
An hour later they called me back to say the key had been found and handed in!
But get this: Id lost the key half a mile away, someone spotted it and handed it into the nearest building, a care home. Someone there saw the Ducati Fob and called InMoto
Despite being bruised & battered the bloody thing still worked, saving me a £92 repacement.
So there really are still some damn fine people around
I think I should've done the lottery that day!
and some flowers for the care home wouldnt go amiss either -
Single Seat Unit
Finally got around to getting the carbon fibre seat unit painted. I ordered the the number boards from Imageworks...just got them to cut the '1' out, so the carbon fibre showed through.
All the work was completed by John at Boyz Toyz paint, just outside Brentwood...top job -

Finally My Dream Bike
Hi All
Having joined just last week to share my woes of the first year of owning a Multi 1260s, finally wanted to get round to proper introduction and tell you of my story.
Finally reached a stage in life where I could afford a premium bike. Tested various bikes in the range and when I tested the Multi i was simply blown away. Forget the GS and KTM....this machine was in my opinion nothing short of incredible.
Finally found a 1-year old bike (2018 model with 2k miles) for sale at Blade in Abingdon.
Now I can forgive the slack chain as I was way too excited to own it on day 1 and comfortable sorting that myself. As for the rest....
1. Was told they will send me the seat adjustment in the post as bike was on lower setting for me. Twice asked since and still not sent. Doubt they still have it!
2. Was told amber flashing DSS on dash is merely telling me it’s active when I recently discover it’s actually a fault light!
3. First breakdown asked them for the updated Ducat Assist tel...
