The Brain Is A Clever Thing... Well, Sometimes..
Ok... listen up...
Who wants the bad news and who’s for the fantableistic news..
No reply huh!..
oh well, the fandabba news is they’ve managed to shrink my Tuna ( sorry Tumour I’m a vegetarian) to where it’s almost gone.. All this without shrinking my undoubted intelligence .. sure it won’t be many minutes before @Exige knocks that one out of the park... Av it...
It’s not spread either so I’m a lucky b*****g geeeeeeser...
Monday is my last Radio syripy treatment thank the Lord ( Bobby Moore) going to miss Wendy and Karen my luvly nurses...
The badder news is I Was doing some metalwork today and have cut me hand with a cutting disc so just had stitches put in..
What amazes me always is even with a Lightly insulated but damaged loft space like mine the brain knows instantly how to react the correct way..
Eg when you cut yourself even with a OAP Upstairs Noggin You always instantly pull your hand away from the danger at speed you never push your hand instead of pulling... -
Chi Dorme Non Piglia Pesci
A few of you're aware that i recently purchased another motorcyle, well it's the delectable, intoxicating Ducati 998R that needs no introduction whatsoever and is probably the all time best from the 916 series.
I've to say the bike was not on my radar because in recent times the marketprice prices had climbed considerably more that i'd normally spend on one single motorbike.
The Chase;
It all happened on friday evening when i usually just switch on the P.C,but changed tack & knocked up a salad and poured a cold one, vegged out in front of the box for a hour,so shock / horror when i'd view Ebay a hour later, there it was winking at me come and buy me.
Phoned the seller and he said it had been listed for around the hour mark (hence the thread title) & within thirty odd minutes later with the metal to the floor i was on site chin wagging away with the fairings removed for a closer inspection asking questions etc.Anyway we could not agree on the sale price so i walked away.... -
For Sale Selling My Sport Classic
Hi everyone, the time has come I’m afraid I’m selling my sport classic. Due to a shoulder injury and a change in circumstances. I’m the 2nd owner and had it since 2007 when I bought it from Ducati Wolverhampton when it had just over 300 miles on. This bike is completely standard as it left the factory. It has all original paperwork and 3 keys including the red master key. All MOTs and receipts for work done. It has been serviced at Ducati Leeds when the belts needed changing which were done 2 years ago. Due them now. It has only done 7140 miles. Only does a few hundred a year. The tyres are in good condition. I’m looking to sell no px or swaps. Either bank transfer or cash but bike cannot be taken until funds are in my account. Oh looking for £9k

Newbie, Bikes
Hi, Thanks for the add.
These are my two Ducati's.
The 900ss was a winter recommission that I just finished. It had been off the road for some time and little or no maintenance for a few years before only 14k from new. I've just finished it and put it on the road and it rides beautifully.
The Multi is a bike I've wanted for ages and only just bought. I owned a 07 Benelli Tre-k 1130 from new and when I finally let someone prise it away from me I went shopping and found this immaculate 2011 Pikes Peak. -
New From Copenhagen
Hi all.
Great to be on this forum. I really appreciate reading posts and checking out the cool bikes.
I havent owned a Ducati for the past 15 years, but picked up a new Streetfighter V4S in May. Love it! Have ridden MV Brutale since 2006 (910S, 910R and 1090RR). Loved them all, but the new SF is MEGA Still have a MV F3 800 - mostly for trackdays.
I know the benefits from a great forum and hopefully I can contribute as well.
Cheers

Piloting Extremely Nicely In Scotland 287 Route In Scotland
Hey folks. I have done the NC500 a couple of times now, and thought I'd do only the bits I like the best last week. It very closely follows the PENIS287 route set out by the top gear guys (piloting extremely nicely in scotland 287 miles for those who haven't seen it). I always found the East coast rather boring to ride although there are a few good things to go see such as whaligoe steps , Lybster harbour etc.
However a must detour to the 287 is adding in Durness. Absolutely spectacular scenery and such fun roads.
Standout roads:
A890 to stromferry
A837 Ardvreck castle
A894 - Alp like fast bends
I could simply list them all, but these stood out -

Aprilia Rsv Millie R
Hi guys couple of years back I advertised my friends millie on here and to be honest I couldn't stop looking at it. I've always fancied one ever since I passed my test. So with uming and ahhing for the last 2 years and annoying @Expat Jack and @bradders with countless txt messages over buying it I finally bought it off my mate. It's great I love it. Though not very quick compared to my r1 or pani R it's still good fun. It's no garage queen but I kinda like it like that. Here's the pics. -

Back Up And Running
So life, kids, the military and other commitments (and aging) conspired to take me away from motorcycling. But a little inspiration and Covid time at home helped right the ship. That and some thoughtful help from this forum.
So...both bikes running strong after full maintenance completed, at home, in the garage. Funny thing, my teenage kids and neighbors think I'm a badass. -
1981 Ducati Pantah In British Columbia, Canada
Hello
I live out on the west coast of BC and have just purchased a blue, 1981, Ducati Pantah, with 31K kilometers on it.
It seems pretty unmolested, has had a good quality, slightly darker than standard, respray, has a two into one fitted and has been converted to a 650, despite the 500 side panel decals. I have the original barrels and pistons; the bike sat in dry storage for 10 years and was never started.
It joins a few other bikes in my workshop and marks a return to Ducati's for me. I bought a 500 Pantah in 1986 and sold it in 1990 when our son was born.
So far I have dumped the oil and plan to replace the belts before installing a fresh battery and seeing if it will run.
I am looking forward to gradually bringing it back to life and would like to draw on the expertise of the forum members to solve the inevitable speed bumps the recommissioning of a bike throws up.
Any advice as I start on this project are gratefully received. Best wishes to all!
