What....a Triumph!
Picked up new (second hand) bike this morning.
Adds a second Trumpet to my garage alongside the Street Triple 765RS. I know the Daytona Moto2 765 is a bloody expensive bike for just a 750, old frame etc, but.......
WHO CARES?!
It was a toss up between this and a V2 and, as I have a Pani R and after having ridden the V2 for a day, I prefer the Trumpet. Its different and I dont think you will see many around.
I got it second hand with just 120 miles on the clock for a (what i consider to be) a very good price. It has the very delicious Triumph Arrow rear sets, smaller LED indicators and tail tidy plus a neat back brake reservoir. I have also bought an official carbon V piece to fit at a nice discount.
I have only ridden 50 or so miles this morning and first impressions are that it steers much quicker than the Striple. The chicken strips were a foot wide on collection - not any more Looking forward to reaching 600 miles when I can start to rev it a bit harder. Think this... -
Please Read: Lukes Legacy For A Docbike
All,
I’ve been a forum dweller for a few years so I hope it’s okay to post this
Now, I need your help please. A random meeting on Friday whilst buying some parts for my KTM 1290 SDR has led me to this. I met a guy called Paul, I went to Newcastle near Stoke, I bought the bits and we got talking.
It turns out the parts are off his late nephews bike, Luke Van de Sande, Luke was tragically killed last year on his Superduke, a serving police officer and by all accounts one hell of a guy, he was 28 years old.
Anyway I want to help his family with a fantastic initiative they are spearheading in Lukes memory “Lukes Legacy”. They are raising money to fund a Docbike in Staffordshire, a rapid response bike piloted by a doctor to be the first responder to motorcyclist accidents. There is only one operating in the UK in Dorset, which I think we can help to change . . .
We are all bikers, we go out and take the risks, the risks Luke took on that day last March, because we love bikes

Hello,
After a novice track day on my 821 monster, I just switch up to a 2017 959, with the tri-options kit. Loving the new bike and looking forward to developing some proper, well at least decent, track skills.

The most charismatic man in sport is now 41. He was once portrayed as Elvis on the cover of Rolling Stone. Brad Pitt opined: “I want to be like him.” Tom Cruise tried to get in his motorhome. He is in action on Sunday and there is no finer terrapin-smuggler or Robin Hood impersonator or seven-times world champion who wears fake fur to signify the demise of his lucky rabbit anywhere in sport.
Valentino Rossi may even be the greatest active star in all sport. You can judge in the Spanish Grand Prix as MotoGP returns. Others are more famous (well, not in Italy or Spain) but I have never met anyone that comes... -

Collected My 888 Today
All went well and a few pics, I hope meeting the exacting Forum requirements.
A quick look through the pile of documentation shows it ran for 5 or 6 years with a registration of 888 NOB and belts were done in 2015 and an Electrex reg/rec fitted.... !eeek!. So no starting until its serviced on 1st August and reg/rec will be changed along with a new battery, clutch slave cylinder and the last original hose before then. A fair bit of sorting/tidying to be done too over the next year or so but I just want to get it smart and ridable first.
Again apologies for Aylesbury councils lack of exciting colours ( and my rubbish photography ).
Thanks for the welcome

999 My First Ride On The Ducati 999s
Well, not exactly the first, I took it around the block before buying it.
Since getting it back home, i'd taken the fairings, wheels, tank, and timing covers off for a check before taking the bike out for a shakedown ride. The brake and clutch fluid looked old so replaced it and bled the brakes and clutch. I bought some Iridium spark plugs but didn't install them until I'd been on the bike. Oil looke fresh and sufficient, brake pads looked ok as did the timing belts - service records said that they were changed in November '19 but..... you know ....
So yesterday late afternoon I took her out onto the country roads which I thought would be quiet, unfortunately, traffic was heavy and the police were out in force. Other traffic users were very courteous and almost all oncoming traffic duly notified me well in advance of local police presence. On reflection, the traffic volume, police presence and road conditions was a good test of how the bike would handle and respond to a variety... -
Here She Is...
Picked her up yesterday and put 85 miles on it today with a ride around Peak District.
A step up from my Monster 1200R in every area except tank range. Fuel light was on after just 80 miles. This wouldn't be an issue if I'd been ringing it's neck but I'm keeping it below 8k while running it in. -
Giving The Gift Of Motorcycling
The youngest Zhedlet turns 18 this time next week and I got him this MT125 (2016). Advertised for £2,850 but I got it for £2,400 with a paddock stand thrown in as the ABS light was on. I think it’s probably just a loose or dry connection as I had a fiddle with the sensors and got the light to go out and the ABS working again, but then it recurred.
I made him spend a year on a twist and go step thru so he could concentrate on developing his road sense and whatnot without having to worry about gears and clutch or toppling over and so he’s absolutely over the Moon to now be on a “proper” bike. We then had a lovely, albeit slow, ride back to Herts together through the Cambridgeshire lanes. -
