959 Just Had This Delivered...
Just had this delivered from Ducati Manchester. Low miles, graphics wrapped but apart from that, bog standard. Can’t wait to get out on it hopefully this weekend.
I’m really, really going to make an effort to keep this one standard ish.
And does anyone have a copy of the 959 workshop manual? I bought a copy off that Recambio moto site but probably through my own stupidity, can’t get it to download...
Anyway, here it is. -
French Artist Jisbar Ducati-themed Picture That Will Go To Auction For #raceagainstcovid

First Ducati Newbie
Hello,
New here...new to Ducati...and back biking after 10yrs away.
Picked up this 959. Took it for it's first spin last night. It's understandably very different to the inline fours I've always had but first impressions are great! I'm guessing/hoping the slow speed maneuvers will just take a bit of getting used to (it's all a bit lumpy down there ). Feels like a great bike once it's well on the move.
Hoping to learn more about this model and Ducati in general on here.
Based in central Scotland and hope to meet some of you along the road.
Cheers,
Kev. -
Homemade Headstock Stand.
After seeing @bettes self made headstock stand I thought I would have a go and give a little detail into my attempt, before we start I am a retired joiner NOT a fabricator or welder.
First was to see what I had laying around, found a few bits but had to buy two pieces of box section for the uprights. I used 35x3mm box for the inner tube and 40x2mm for the outer tube which gave a half mm all round clearance to slide.
First job was to weld the nut from the 20mm threaded bar into the 35x3mm inner box tube. I drilled holes through the top to give a larger weld area.
Next I welded an old socket to the top of the threaded bar made two steel washers (which had to fit inside to outer tube) with a plastic washer made from a milk bottle in between well greased to reduce friction!
To stop the shoulder nut from moving I drilled and fitted a split pin rather than weld just in case I needed to remove it at a later date.
Threaded bar now fitted into the inner box section.
Next was to make... -

For Sale Ducati 998s
Might be selling this as a new project could be along soon.
As most of you know, I’ve spent the last 5 years minting this bike with the best parts I could get my hands on. No expense spared.
The bike has 17,800 miles on it backed up with mots, a folder full of receipts, the original POS sheet and I think I’m the 3rd or 4th owner.
The Bayliss bodywork is made up of 996R Carbon fiber side panels, belly pan and front mudguard. All the other body parts are MS Production. No stickers on the bike barring the front 21 number. Everything else is hand painted on, including the small logos on the belly pan. The paintwork is in Stunning condition with just a small blemish on the MS Production Carbon fiber tank. This is the later (better) version reinforced with Kevlar.
30mm Offset magnesium Yokes.
Corse magnesium swing arm complete with mag eccentric, linear rocker and RS ride height adjuster.
Marchesini magnesium wheels. The rear (not fitted) is 5.75” so perfect for no the a 180 or 190... -

Sitting bored so thought I’d post a picture of my mate at the Mull of Galloway recently. My mate Norie owns the pikes peak and soon to be 82 years young. Was pissed of at not riding to WDW this year. Morocco last year. Amazing guy. -

1098 When Selling/letting Go Is Not As Easy You Thought
Earlier this year I decided to sell my Ducati 1098S, which I had owned since new. It was advertised for a couple of weeks but didn't attract a serious buyer. A few days ago on a bit of a whim I resumed the Ad and yesterday final payment on it was made and off the bike went with it's new owner.
It wasn't a forced sale or anything like that, there was solid logic behind the decision. Nevertheless I owned the bike for a fair period and put a lot of time and energy into its upkeep. The thing becomes a part of your life experience (good and bad). I bought it when my wife was 4 months pregnant with our now Year 7 son. I have photo's of both kids propped on it from toddlerhood through the years to the recent past.
Then of course all the riding memories, from the euphoric to brown trousers time. Good day trips with friends, some of whom I have lost contact with.
Of course at the end of the day it is an object, a possession ... but when it becomes entangled with special times, with... -
A Little Good News!!
As some of you may be aware of my situation currently I thought I was going to have to sell the bike, but I am able too keep her now so you’re not free of me yet!! Photo of how things look at the moment. -
40 Years To The Month…
Above is a picture of me the last time I took to a track on 2 wheels. That was 40 years ago to the month IIRC. I did subsequently get to go on the sidecar platform with Roger Body at Brands, but that was 25 years ago on a corporate event. My last track foray on four wheels was 20 years back.
I have been telling myself that I really should do a track day for a few years now, and @Advikaz thread on his new GSXR stung me into action a bit sooner than I had intended (already had the the forthcoming Ducati day at Donnington booked).
I PM’d Adam and arranged 1 2 1 instruction for the day on 28th at Donnington through Focussed Events. With the event in August coming up I thought it would be a good idea to get some track time in beforehand with the added bonus of professional instruction from a Forum member.
Last week I had the suspension set up, stripped the indicators, number plate and radiator coverings on my Street Triple RS. I also swapped the tyres from my 748R (Bridgestone... -
First Time Ducati Owner. New Here Too!
Hello all.
Recently became the owner of a gorgeous 1199S in a Superleggera paint job. I understand it isn't the real thing, but it's certainly enough to make people think twice. It's very marmite, but I love it. At least I don't have to wear a hi-viz.
Only had it two weeks and an still a little tentative on the throttle as I've just come off an old RSV 1000. The Ducati is much lighter and far more powerful, at least to me.
I have made none of the modifications to the bike which has had one owner since new. Paint job by Dream Machine UK.
S version with electronically controlled suspension.
Carbon front and rear mud guard
Carbon heat shield
Carbon tail tidy
Termignoni carbon titanium exhaust
Marchesini wheels
Some fancy Ducati performance seat -
I've Bought Yet Another Bike For A Ride To Italy.
Well, after making deciding to push the boat out a little and buy a touring bike a little newer than the Triumph Sprint ST I bought earlier in the year, I picked up the chosen one today.
A BMW GS Adventure XE R1200.
Before I saw this bike, I hadn't heard of the XE, just the Adventure and Adventure TE. The TE was the touring edition and the XE was the Enduro edition exactly the same as the TE, but without the LED headlight and tyre pressure sensors. However, this bike was spec'd with the LED headlight and sensors, plus the advantage of the £1k ish BMW / Givi Trekker boxes.
I bought it privately today from Scotland and rode back down this afternnon. What a cracking bike with all the toys. Really well looked after and should see a few tours with myself.
Now washed and given a liberal dose of ACF50 it sits in the garage making the Ducati's looking like mini-motos
@Marco - 58 will be along soon with his congratulations. -
Help From Ducati Itself
I was inspired by a post on here to find out as much as I can about my 916. It's a humble Biposto MY 95 although very early 95 so all the plastic is mid to late 94. Anyway I contacted Ducati via their website on Wednesday quoting my VIN, asking for any information they have on the bike. Within 2 hours I had a phonecall from Italy explaining they can give me as much as they know but need pictures of the VIN, logbook and my ID, all backed up by a Email too. I provided the requested pictures later that day and got a reply almost instantly that they would pass it on to the relevant department. The next day I received a Email with all the information. When and where my bike was built, what model/spec it was, who the importer was and when they took delivery. Confirmation that the engine is the one it left the factory with and when it was sold and first registered. They also offered a PDF of the owners handbook for the exact specification. What a fantastic service! -
Superleggera V4 001/500 Delivered At Borgo Panigale
Claudio Domenicali, Ducati CEO, personally delivered model number 001/500 and the certificate of authenticity of the Superleggera V4 to the lucky owner
Belgian Ducatista Filip Van Schil, who already owns nine Ducati motorcycles, was invited to Borgo Panigale to pick up his Superleggera V4
"Receiving the motorbike directly in the Company and touching the passion of the people who work in Borgo Panigale is an experience that I will always remember. Days like this are what make Ducati unique and different from all the other motorcycle manufacturers," said Filip Van Schil on receiving the motorcycle
Borgo Panigale (Bologna, Italy), 26 June 2020 - The number 001/500 model of the Ducati Superleggera V4 - the only motorcycle in the world homologated for road use with carbon fibre frame, swingarm and rims and produced by the Italian motorcycle manufacturer in a limited run of just 500 units – has been officially delivered to its new owner, the Belgian Ducatista Filip Van Schil, who... -

996 New (to Me!) 996r
Hello folks,
After years of lusting after an R/SP spec 916-era bike, I've finally pulled the trigger on a 996R (number 311) that's been in a collection in South Africa for a number of years. It's been regularly - if sparingly - used, with less than 6000km on the clock and full service history.
Now just got to wait for the 4 weeks for it to sail around to me here in Dubai!
Excited!! -
Please, Please Read This
Guys,
Two people I know of have been killed in under a week partaking in trackdays.
Please, please, please listen/pay attention to the briefing. If you’re unsure ask. If you think you’re in the wrong group ask to move. If you want help, ask. If your bike isn’t right, pull off. Never ride a bike that’s not fit for purpose.
Every day on track is different. Treat it so.
Everyone is a bit rusty due to Covid straight after the winter. Build up, don’t rush. The fast group is faster than the usual average, Bare this in mind.
Two accidents that could have possibly been avoided, two lives lost. Two broken families.
Be safe. There’s plenty of fast guys down at the graveyard. It isn’t a race, if you’re not feeling it don’t push. It needn’t be dangerous, but it can be if we aren’t vigilant.
edit: also for the love of god, look over your shoulder when exiting the pits!!!!
