Michael Bonney Aka Gizmo, One Of Our Own .....
Not sure I'm the best person or the right person to start this, but Michael was one of us, Ducatisti to the bone, below are his words ...... he deserves a proper send off, and recognition of who he was and what he brought to our small world .....
And so it ends.
I’ve always been open about my disability and life and feel that the last chapter requires that same openness.
After 6 1/2 years I’ve let my body decide whether it can sustain life, I’ve switched the vent off and as my breathing slows will be sedated and won’t have any medical treatment to help stay alive. According to my doctors my lungs will slowly stop moving and sats will drop. Given my stubborn body there is the possibility it’ll keep breathing, it hasn’t done anything that I have wanted since the accident .
The decision to switch off the vent wasn’t that difficult to make, the surprising part is I got this far but that is down to the support I’ve had from so many people and me not wanting to let them down. The list... -

Ducati 999s
Hi guys!
I am a happy and proud owner of a fantastic second generation ducati 999s, with deep sump black swingarm and Ohlins suspensions.
Actually the bikes presents some both mechanical and aesthetic upgrades such as asymmetric slip on Termi exhaust, 330mm Braking brake rotors and a lot of carbon parts.
Now I will intruduce my bike with some pictures, I hope you will enjoy them.
Regards from Italy! -
For Sale 999 - Pressure Forces Sale
Sadly, I need to sell my beloved 999. I had an off in the Summer but it's all fixed now and back to its former glory.
New battery and ExactFit cables make for instant starting,
New EBC HH pads for stronger braking.
Oberon slave gives a light clutch lever for the smooth and progressive clutch
PC3 plus modified exhaust gives 128.5 rwbhp (according to a printout that came with the bike)
Faultless fuelling gives linear, relentless thrust
14,000 dry miles and I am only the second owner.
Lots of stainless, titanium and carbon.
Later, more reliable coils
Later, more reliable ecu with the immobiliser switched off to eliminate potential problems.
Tyres, sprockets and gold DID x-ring chain all good
R1 throttle tube for slightly quicker action plus zero play for smoother riding.
Helibars that look standard but make all the difference to comfort.
LED stop and tail internal board for added brightness plus reliability.
£5,250 -
Selling Dilemma
After a lot of sole searching I have decided to sell my beloved Desmo. But were is the best place to do it, as I placed an add on MCN the other week, but took it down after a couple of days. Because of the amount of time wasting 'test drivers' who had no intention of purchase. -
848 Finally Got One
I have been looking for one of these for a while and finally got the right one. I bought it privately from a really nice guy outside York, who bought it in 2012 and only took it out on dry days.
I rode it approx 250 miles to the ferry at Cairnryan to bring it home to N Ireland
It has some nice DP carbon parts and Austin Racing cans, which look and sound great and I have not seen these on an 848 before. I have added a new DP seat, Evotech rad guard and a nice personal reg, just to finish it off. -

1260 15,000 Miles And Counting
Well, I have clocked 15,000 miles over the last 18 months on my 1260s and here's what I think.
I still love it, and it's a keeper. I briefly toyed with the idea of a change of bike. I mean, do I really need 158hp, electronic suspension, cornering abs, hill hold and a Star Wars dash with a hundred settings options etc etc. The answer I concluded is yes, yes and yes!
HP - No, I can't really make use of all those horses a lot of the time, but to have them on tap when I need or want them is so nice, and the torque that comes with them is even better.
Skyhook - it just does it's thing without me really noticing it, except on occasions when riding a familiar sketchy road that I used to bounce and clatter over on previous bikes, I find the MS gliding over it with no fuss whatsoever.
Lights - Brilliant. The cornering lights are a nice addition, once you get used to them and don't think someone is undertaking you!
Hill Hold - who needs that? - what a great feature that is on a big... -

After 2 Years, She Is Complete
She is now 100%, but with the weather as wet as it is, I am still unable to do a shakedown ride. She sounds lovely and looks stunning, which is the main thing.
Hopefully next Saturday will be kind for the monthly meet up, otherwise I’ll see you all in the first decent day in Spring! -

Dealership Experience... Hyside Over Seastar..
Good evening All, I would firstly like to state I have no afiliation to any of the Ducati dealerships I am about to discuss.
I purchased my Ducati 899 Panigale from a good friend 2 weeks ago. It was originally bought from Seastar Ducati in Norwich. It is a late 2013 model with 4700 miles on the clock. It has been looked after and fully serviced by Seastar every year. In the summer the dash had the dreaded crack appear in the bottom left hand corner, my mate contacted Seastar to ask for advice and they said putting a piece of tape over it was an adequate fix... He followed there advice and continued to do a further 48 miles on the bike. He then offered the bike to me as he had another project that needed finishing. I bought the bike and firstly wanted to sort the glass. As you might be aware the piece of glass isnt available to just replace it is the whole dash at a price of £750 not including fitting.. I asked Seastar about the warranty repair option that a few of you suggested me... -
For Sale 1000ssie @ £3350
As mentioned on the thread selling my 1200 monster, I need to raise some funds towards the purchase of a small plot of land so now I`m putting my 1000ss up for sale.
Mine is a 2005 bike with 18000 miles. It has a full service history including the valve service @ 13000 miles and a cam belt service in September along with a fresh mot. All services carried out by Ducati dealers or independent specialists. Mechanically I believe it to be in excellent condition , it is certainly a blast to ride with more smiles per mile than pretty much any bike I have ever ridden.
Cosmetically not bad for a 14 year old bike but by no means perfect , it has a little of the good old Ducati engine paint peel and the odd small blemish on the paintwork.
I have 3 keys, all the books and loads of invoices.
The bike can be viewed in Bedfordshire , please send a pm if you want to see it or have any questions about it.
Cheers

748/999 Build
I’ve taken over an unfinished project from a friend. It’s a 748 with a 999 engine. The 748 dropped a valve at Brands in 07, instead of repairing the motor, we decided to replace with a 999 Testastretta motor.
At the time, the conversion was pretty unheard of, so getting the thing to fit & run was all unknown.
Anyway, 12 yrs later, I’ve bought the project from my friend. It’s been running and ventured out on track at Cadwell (12yrs ago) but that’s about it. It’s been sat at the back of his garage under cover.
I’ll be starting the strip and rebuild in the next coming weeks. Expect plenty of pics and stupid questions lol -
