She's Arrived
She's arrived. The lady devil who whispers softly but barks loudly. I was quite nervous about the change in style, but honestly, she's so easy to ride. Very smooth, much more so than my Monster 821; slightly sadly I waved goodbye to her. Now, ride the lady X Devil stock for a while I think about mods. . -

So I Dropped In For A Battery ...
The store was on the way home. The 1098S had not been holding charge so well and I had got my value.
The shiny new things were on display, the standout not being shiny but in a matt black. Salesman comes over "We have a demo of that fitted with the bi-directional quickshifter. It's just been out, I've got the keys here".
I hadn't ridden an inline four for a decade. So off I went, nearly stalling at each take off due to the comparative lack of torque. So where's the 202 hp? I roll the throttle on and I'm sitting still in a magnificently rendered video game, snicking gears instantly whilst the scenery just melts. But I'm not on a track so I grab some brakes and holy shit snap back to reality with minimal pressure.
OK so it goes and it feels light but cornering? It's a bit of a ride to find some twisties but rationality exited with the accel/deceleration. Through the curves this thing makes you feel like you are so much more capable than what you are. It is planted. And that... -
1098 Street Fighter - 2009 - First Ducati And Love It
Hey there guys and ladies
Had my SF 1098 for a month now and just love it, never have I had a bike that makes me love motorcycles so much.
Since the age of 19 and seeing my first Ducati.....Paso 750, I fell in love.
It's taken till the age of 45 to finally get one.
Just love the whole experience of riding it, from the chugging at 30mph to the bang of 90.
It's a thrill, more than any other bike I've owned. Love the engine the handling the noise the badge and love what it means. -
For Sale 1998 916 Sps
**New Price** Having been hugely time wasted, my SPS is back up for sale.
It’s a 98 model and is simply stunning with 9600 miles, backed by MOT history. I’ve spent a lot of money and time on a sympathetic refresh recently with loads of new OEM bits and bobs. Has excellent service history, original books and service book.
Originally registered new in the UK having been sold by Baines Racing, has just had a service and belts at Mototechnica along with full CO set and TB balance. Has both sets of pipes. Will also put 12months MOT.
Original SPS plaque from the yoke was pinched so I’ve had a really nice reproduction one made. Has been fully verified by both Ducati bologna and also Ducati UK as the real deal.

1100 New Radiator Guard From Jamie Clare - Review
Well thanks to @Jamie Clare I now have a fancy rad guard on my Scrambler 1100 Sport
So how was it delivered? And how easy was it to fit? And how does it look?
1. It was well packaged and protected in a lovely cardboard box. The box was well padded out with brown paper to stop the contents rattling around inside. The guard itself was wrapped in thin foam to give it further protection. Also included in the box were four sticky pads that were to be fitted to the inside four corners (reverse) of the guard and two cable ties to secure the bottom of the guard to the radiator.
2. Fitting was a doddle, even for a technical retard like me. It took all of about 5 minutes to fit. First thing to do was press the four sticky back rubber pads in place on the reverse of the guard, in each corner. You then "hang" the guard over the top of the radiator and push it into place. Then came the last bit - pushing the cable tie through the pre-cut holes at the bottom corners of the guard and... -
For Sale My 2000 748r - £7000 Ono
Unfortunately, after a lot of time and money invested into the bike, I’ve decided to sell the bike in favour of something newer and capable of comfortable long journeys, as well as the short ones. Practicality seems to be further up the list at the moment and I haven’t got the spare funds to be able to keep this as well as a new one.
So, about the bike!
The bike was registered new with Baines Racing in Silverstone in 2000 and owned by its first owner for a year until April 2001.
Then for the next 17 years, it was owned by a lady who got some extensive use out of it including various trips to Sicily.
From 2012 - 2018 the bike sat garaged with no use and due to the owner emigrating to Australia, the bike was recommissioned with new belts, tyres, fluids and filters, then bought my myself.
I’m sure I’ve missed a few bits, but I’ll update if I remember anything;

916 Sps Build. Only Been Stood For 7 Years
Finally got round to starting building my 916. Seems that life, job, money and promotion got in the way. As on my first thread, I've gone the route of get it half decent now, enjoy the bloody thing over summer, then a full strip down over winter. This is a bitsa, but i don't have the money to buy Ducati racing tri spoke wheels, or original green clocks! unless people are giving them away....ahem! So, as it was bought...stood for 7 years by an elderly gent who went unpunished for his crimes against motorcycling ! -

1260 1260 0ne Year On.
I've had my 1260s for one year now. Here are my thoughts on the bike-
General - I thought from day one that it's the best bike I have ever owned, and still think that.
Reliability - Has not missed a beat, totally reliable at 8,200 miles
Build Quality - Excellent. I ride all year and it still looks great. I always ACF 50 for the winter which helps.
Engine - Once loosened up after a 1000 or so miles it just got smoother and generally better.
Gearbox - A little difficult to find neutral early on but no problem after a few hundred miles.
Suspension - Skyhook say no more.
Power - Say no more!
Handling - Superb.
Comfort - Good riding position, although I added bar risers which sits me slightly more upright which suits me personally. I found the seat uncomfortable, it pushed me forward too much so I changed it for a Corbin - ride all day comfort.
Rideabilty - Only issue for me was the amount of free play in the throttle, which made the bike for me hard to ride smoothly on the initial on... -
New To The Forum!
Hello, I'm A new member to the forum! Ive used this forum a lot in the past to work on my 1098, and decided I would finally become a member with the purchase of my new hypermotard SP! I was encouraged to post pictures, so here are some of my two bikes and a friend's 19 Tuono Factory -
Hi From Northumberland
Hi All,
After a few years away from Ducati (MVs, Aprilia and JIL4) I’ve added this to the stable today. A well looked after 1098s with some tasteful additions including a lot of Carbon goodies plus a full termignoni system and ECU re map.
All original parts included, so a very happy bunny indeed. All servicing is up to date so some minor cosmetics and lot of cleaning and polishing prior to the TT in June.
Looks like there may be the usual Ohlins oil weep on one of the forks, which I’ll sort.
Any suggestions of practical modifications or suggestions greatly appreciated. -
Porsche Advice Required!
Hi!
In a fit of madness (they do seem to becoming more regular with age!) I just purchased a 964 cab (with approx 5k miles on the clock!) It has however stood for 25 years in a barn, the owner died, and the heirs weren't interested. It does need loads of parts, as the original owner was working on the car when he passed, mainly aesthetics at the moment (lots of interior pieces) but I've yet to get stuck into it!
I know there are a few porsche enthusiasts on here..so if anyone can recommend where to source parts from (both new and used) I would appreciate it!
Cheers
Grant
Oh..and can anyone recommend a porsche forum as good as a certain ducati one? -
1200 R It's New Bike Day!
First of all, I'm sorry for all the threads i've started. Everyone's been super helpful and I really appreciate it. There'll be more threads.. apologies in advance.
A few days ago I walked into a Ducati dealer to have my clutch looked at on my 848 Evo. The 848 is only my second motorbike, the first being a CBR600F which I crashed at Snetterton. I loved my Evo.. it satisfied all of my mid-life crisis cravings despite crushing my balls every time I hit a bump. In fact, I was planning on doing a 2000 mile tour of the Picos mountains in June on my 848.
As I waited for my bike to be looked at the salesman mentioned that the 2016 Monster R that was being worked on and which I had been admiring was actually for sale. It only had 800 miles on it. He sowed a seed. The next morning I phoned him and negotiated a trade in for my bike. A couple of days later I picked up the Monster I'm so very very happy. My wife is insanely angry but it'll be worth it. This bike is everything I wanted!... -
