Italia Moto Lincoln No Longer Main Dealer
Sadky announced today on their fb page
IMPORTANT
ANNOUNCEMENT!
It is with a heavy heart that after twenty five years Italia Moto has decided that we are no longer continuing as a Ducati main dealer from July 2019.
This has been the most difficult decision that Phil has made in over thirty years in the motorcycle industry and one not taken lightly.
Italia has been and will continue to be a proud advocate for Ducati and we know they will continue to innovate and be at the forefront of motorcycle development and technology, just as they always have.
Ducati's future business strategy is different from ours and we feel that we are not able to follow this path, therefore it is time to change our relationship.
Looking to our future we would like to assure our loyal customers that we will continue as an independent Ducati specialist, concentrating on the vast back catalogue of bikes that we have been looking after for so many years. We will no longer be able to supply you with a... -

Gifted With An Almost Free S4
Sup fellow Dookie riders.
I'm here to say hi, share the story of I came to own a Ducati and the process that got it back on the road but also to pose a few questions.
It all began when I bought a 96 cherry red
XV 535 Virago in amazing condition. My boss at the time got super jealous and had to 1 up me, he went and got a beautiful S4 from France. In most countries that would be the end of the tale, but this is Luxembourg and nothing is easy around here.
He was barred from registering the bike due to lots of bureaucracy and the fact that the bike had had the rear fender removed. (In Luxembourg it's hard to get a bike through customs and MOT without it being 100% genuine or getting your wallet raped by officially adding notes on the registration.)
The bike was originally running like crap. The monstrous torque made the bike even harder to handle and after half a dozen of rides, my ex boss now friend got tired of the constant fear of riding it and put it in storage to sell it later.... -
My New Toy
Before I start I cannot find the right thread for this but I am sure Heir El toro will move it somewhere. Anyway. My new toy all being well will be in my possession tomorrow. Will try & find some bins for the lovely Ducbird to drool over. Anyway here it is after much searching for the one I wanted. I found this one. Stupid insurance, stupid tax ( £555) but hell.
Before & after plate change. I have my own on retention ready to go on. -

Never expected to be doing anything like this (well, not to something thats not mine!). Ive said in a few other posts but a lad i work with got totally shafted by a local bike shop. At the time i never really looked that close at it but the more and more stuff started to stop working on it the more and more i stepped in to try to help. He has no garage, literally no tools and its his first bike, and being the sort of person i am i cant stand idly by when i have a lot of resource at my fingertips. So, after various odd saturday mornings in my garage weve gotten to this point. He's not mechanically minded as such but is happy to try. The rocker cover was pissing so much oil it starved the mains so, we took the decision (well, the point where i put my neck on the block) and offered to help strip the thing to the frame and get everything sorted out. Its also a cat C (i think thats the one - panel/light damage)
Today, this morning we started. 10.30 the first spanner loosened its first... -

For Sale 1982 Pantah 500sl
I have decided to sell my Pantah 500SL. It is recently restored and is in immaculate condition. Current mileage is 30,151 km ( 18,735 Miles)
The bike has had 2 previous owners. The first owner bought the bike new and stripped it down in 1987 with the intention of refurbishing it but 27 years later it was still in bits which he sold to the 2nd owner. However the 2nd owner came to realise that the rebuild was a bit beyond his capabilities so the bike came to me in March 2016 in various boxes of bits.
The frame, swinging arm, instrument/fairing support bracket and centre stand were stripped back to bare metal, primed and powder coated. The tank, seat, fairing and side panels were professionally painted to a very high standard with graphics supplied by Imageworks.
The chainguard, brake and gearchange levers, rear indicator stem & nuts, brake pull rod, front fairing brackets have all been re-chromed.
The heads were removed and the bores inspected, fortunately they were in good... -

Operating Profit Margin Confirmed At 7% For Ducati In 2018
53,004 motorcycles delivered, € 699 million revenue and € 49 million operating profit, equal to an operating margin of 7%
Claudio Domenicali, CEO Ducati Motor Holding: "Our operating profit is confirmed at the end of 2018 and Ducati will continue to build on fascinating new products."
Oliver Stein, CFO Ducati Motor Holding: "Concentrating on high margin motorcycles maintains our qualitative operating margin level."
Borgo Panigale (Bologna) / Ingolstadt 14 March 2019 – The end of 2018 shows Ducati to have consolidated the growth trend of the past few years for the Italian motorcycle manufacturer. 53,004 (2017: 55,871) motorcycles were delivered to clients all over the world; a result which remains over the 50,000 level for the fourth consecutive year, despite a 2.7% decrease in the global market for motorcycles over 500 cc. Conditions proved to be especially challenging in the United States as Ducati’s number one market, declining by nearly 9%.
The end of 2018 revenue reached a... -
Great New Courses And Experiences From Ducati Riding Academy

Not-to-be-missed travel experiences offer the chance to tour on your favourite Ducati
Borgo Panigale (Bologna, Italy), 11 March 2019 – Enrolment has reopened at the Ducati Riding Academy. Providing courses and experiences since 2003, the Academy has let more than 10,000 motorcyclists from all over the world hone their riding skills on a Ducati.

916 Project
A mate and I had a daft idea of buying a cheap bike to work on together and stick on YouTube. We were looking at a 748 track bike that popped up on eBay (and on here in the eBay bikes thread) but lack of timely buy-in from SWMBO meant someone got to it before us. Luckily, it turned out (I think) as I came across an old post on Facebook marketplace relating to a 916 that hadn't started for about 8 years and the current owner was thinking of selling.
After a little research into what the bike actually was, a price was agreed and it came home with us in the van. It also came with an additional frame which will be used as it's currently on a Q plate. From what I can ascertain so far, the facts are as follows:
It has a 94 engine (unknown mileage) with P8 ECU and 94 swingarm. The bodywork is post 94 as is the tank + tank cap. Wheels are post 94 (no Ducati Racing lettering) and the bike was sprayed yellow at some point. The wiring is a mess and has been chopped about a little but... -

I Must Be Old - Some Bikers/motorcyclists (but Not Bootsam) Are Starting To Look Stupid To Me.
Must confess perhaps it’s my age but a couple of times today I saw bikers on their pride and joys and for the first time really I thought to myself god, how sad are you..
Guy on a Kawasaki pulled up at the lights wobbling his way to the front of the Q blipping his throttle very loudly with his 4 into one pipe.. He wore full leathers with one of those multi coloured visors on iredium or something with the looking around as if to find admiring glances ( there were none) He pulled away really loud accelerating hard just to get stopped 50 yards ahead at the next set of lights where he went through it all again including revving the thing whilst looking down at the engine as if to spot some problem with it..
Ten mins later a DUCATI Scrambler pulled up, he wore jeans, leather boots but not motorcycle type, a hoodie backpack and open faced Matt black helmet with cop type shades.. bike sounded nice and he just took his time looking totally chilled .. I thought yes, I really thought my...
