1200 S Monster 2015
Hello Folks
Haven’t posted anything for a while certainly not pictures
I picked up a 2015 1200S at the end of the season.
Cleaned it up, new chain and sprockets, a few titanium nuts and bolts here and there (Thanks Addiction Motorsport). Couldn’t help but stick a new pair of wheels on, Domino grips, indicators, tail tidy, Carbon fibre hugger and chain guard, AEM anodised wheel washer, screen and had belts done.
When I picked it up it needed a bit of tlc. Previous owner had mechanical sympathy but I don’t think he knew what a sponge was, not bad by any means but I’m a bit of a clean freak. One of the past owners has spent a bit, steering damper, termi’s. -

For Sale 1993 Monster 900
Evening all,
after a great deal of consideration and change in circumstances, I need to find a new home for my 1993 Monster 900.
I’ve owned it for 19+ years, I was Moto Rapido’s first bike sale when they opened up as a small independent shop. I had a huge amount of fun and met lots of great friends over the next 10-12 years, but other bikes have come and gone so the 900 effectively came off the road and has been dry stored ever since - I last had it running about 3-4 years ago with new belts at the time.
it is a very early build, around April/May 1993 and was imported from Germany by Metropolis in London and first registered in August 1993 and was fitted with Road Racing dash and rev counter. Over my time I’ve added other period correct parts like the Leo Vince cans and a dynojet kit and open air box & air filter plus a few other parts. I have all the original parts stored away (even the very early silencers and carbon heal guards). All paint is original aside from the engine... -

999 Underestimated, But Superb: The 999
Hi everyone
The Ducati 999 must be one of the most underrated superbikes ever. 3 WSBK titles on the one hand, a controversial design on the other. Well, whatever, she’s mine now and that makes me very happy: -
2003 999
Hi everyone, ive taken the plunge into a 2003 999 with a few bolt ons from the previous owner. this beauty replaces my 2008 hayabusa and will sit along side my 2003 Z1000, which ive owned since 2005. i was hankering after a V twn for a while and nearly bought an Aprilia RSV1000 factory, but the sheer beauty of the 999 had the deciding factor!! it arrived 3 weeks ago and ive amassed 5 miles... its cold down south!! im aiming to do some trackdays on it and have booked Donington in late July and will also book Castle Combe as its my local track.
I live just outside of Bath, so any locals around give mne a shout!!
Looking forward to reading some interesting stuff and a lot of nonsence i hope!! -
1299 New 1299s
Well today for my first ride of my new (to me) 1299s Panigale it’s 2015 with nearly 6k on the clock, and as an owner of 996 I found the mannerism to be quite similar. firstly it does not like town 1st gear most of the time 3000rpm below that need to slip the clutch, similar to 996. The handling is so light and precise looking forward to some nice dry days to explore a little further. On the whole it’s a grown up 996 with electronics and I think we are going to get along just fine. 1st mod is going to be tank grips and comfort seat not that I did not find the seat uncomfortable but it’s very slippery. -
1199 Happy To Be Back
Hi everyone,
Just bought a 66 plate 1199R with just under 6K on the clock. It has been about 7 years since I sold my last Panigale and regretted selling it everyday. Still smile on my face again now. -

Royal Enfield 350 Bullet
Found this pic of me selling my 350 bullet I rode round India and Nepal to an Israeli fella who was going back the other way
Absolute heap of shit that broke down more times than I can remember but it cost me £450 for the best 9 months of my life.
Whats not to love (apart from my terrible long hair). -
Go And Get Your Psa Checked
On Friday morning last week I was diagnosed with prostate cancer- this scene from Blackadder kept coming to mind.
I went to Spain in May for 5 days on track. While there I had dinner with a group of men, also in their 50’s, some of whom had survived prostate cancer. They convinced me to get tested. My local doctor’s medical practice were reluctant at first as I had no symptoms, but we did the test and then an MRI, DRE and finally a surgical biopsy.
If you or someone you love is in their 50’s and he has not been tested then share this with them. I too made a note in my diary, it does simply say “bugger” but I’m so glad I know now and that my surgery is now being scheduled.
Together we can beat cancer.

Storm Ciaran- Incoming
A bit of a breeze building in the Channel and South coast of UK - called Storm Ciaran
Interesting to see the shipping - some vessels taking refuge behind the Cotentin Peninsula. I see the French rescue tug The Abeille Bourbon is on station west of Brest ready to help any vessel in trouble
Epic vessel that:

V4 Streetstrada, Panistrada, Stradagale Or Stradafigher?
The Multistrada V4RS is again "challenging" the motorcycling public as to what sort of bike "classification" is to be applied. I have a deposit down on one to replace my 2019 1260S but have never ridden a V4 Panigale. I have ridden a Street Fighter V4 (briefly) and found it to be a "hoot" but I don't do "naked" anymore.
At 75 years "young" ( it's all relative, eh?), there is no way I will be able to ride the V4RS to it's potential and I find my longer distance travels to be a bit curtailed just do to physical limitations.
There is little to no logic in this purchase but I see no reason to not enjoy my remaining years doing things I love even if not as often as I used to do so or would like to do so.
Am I being selfish? Maybe but as has been pointed out numerous times. " You don't get old riding hard. You get old by hardly riding".
Thoughts anyone? -
For Sale 748r Sold.
Moving on my well cared for and very clean full Ohlins 2001 748r. If you are looking for an absolute concourse bike…..move on by. Having said that, she’s been in my possession since 2018 and has clearly been cherished and lovingly looked after by her previous owners one of which is a senior member of this forum. The bike had her latest belt service late last year. She’s covered just over 12.5k miles. Servicing has been by main dealer and independent over the years but she’s been well cared for with paperwork to cover the works. She’s currently fitted with plenty of carbon and aftermarket toys but also comes with all original parts. She has an aftermarket Ohlins damper. I replaced her battery in December and she’s currently sorned and in winter storage.
£8500. Based in Norfolk

A New, Historic Chapter Opens For Ducati: The Red From Borgo Panigale Enters Motocross
The Bologna based manufacturer has been working for two years on a prototype that will make its debut next season in the Italian Motocross Championship, with the aim of validating the technical solutions made on the bike on the track. This strategy confirms the approach that distinguishes Ducati in the development of its sportiest and most high-performance models, i.e. starting from racing competition and then creating series products capable of exceptional performance for the delight of its enthusiasts.
This is a multi-year project that will see the creation of a complete range of off-road engines and motorcycles. The models will gradually become part of a family of knobby motorcycles branded Ducati, starting with motocross.
The Bologna-based company has signed an agreement with nine-time Motocross World Champion Antonio Cairoli as a high-performance test rider for the new project and, thanks to his talent, speed and experience, he will give important input for the development... -
Real World Crash Tested Gear Review
I recently had a crash at c100mph at Silverstone. My gear undoubtedly saved my life but I still suffered a huge amount of injuries. I have decided not to go into massive detail about them but the bike landed on top of me, causing 19 fractures and dislocation plus internal injuries to several critical organs. I was very lucky to survive (thanks to Silverstone Medical team, The Air Ambulance Service and Coventry Critical Injuries Unit amongst others).
Follows pictures of my protective gear after the event plus my thoughts on how it performed.
Please feel free to add your own reviews of any gear you have the misfortune to use in anger. It may help others decide upon an appropriate level of protection aligned to their riding environment.
HELMET
X-LITE 803 ULTRA CARBON
This is the second of these I have owned and I am a fan. The first I "tested" at Snetterton on a gentle 45 mph lowside. I immediately replaced it with a new one.
As you can see, this helmet took a fair slide. The... -
