The new 'food factory' lies at the heart of Bologna's historic city centre and is open every day from breakfast time to evening drinks time
Hamburgers, craft beers, traditional dishes and pizza form an exciting new 'Land of Joy' menu
Inaugural event attended by Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati, and Andrea Dovizioso, flag-bearer of the MotoGP Ducati Team
A second Ducati Scrambler Food Factory, the 'Land of Joy' food experience, has opened in Bologna. This latest food factory, located in the heart of the city centre, in via d’Azeglio 34, overlooks the suggestive Corte Galluzzi and the interior of the same-named tower that dates back to the late 13th century.
Conceived to convey and share a love of flavoursome, refined eating, the new Ducati Scrambler Food Factory is characterised by vintage design yet modern taste, much like the Ducati Scrambler itself: a unique experience that begins with food and goes on to encompass art, music, customisation, events, meetings and much more.

Just Another Newbie With All The Gear & No Idea...yet!
Hello all,
Well another midlife crisis, not really, just wanted to own another motorbike, passed my motorbike test in 2013, bought a CBR600RR, did the Police BikeSafe course and the Ron Haslam track day at Donnington Park, but it then became an ornament and I ended up selling it after 18 months or so, looking back the CBR was quite small for my size and at my age the riding position wasn't comfortable, but part of me still feels like I didn't give my biking career a fair crack of the whip, so at 48 I'm back in the saddle with this thing of absolute beauty, the Ducati's 848 Street Fighter.
I've taken it out for the first time and I'm already hooked, I've made quite a few adjustments, rear brake position, set rear adjustable swing arm back to standard ride height, changed the Oberon 40mm bar riser the CNC Racing standard bar riser that was in the accompanying box of bits, upped the DTC to keep me safe whilst I learn the bike etc.
Now for the simple questions and observations,... -

Wheels Are On
I'm so chuffed, they're on. Thanks to Sev for having motivating me (unknowingly) through images of his old bike, to get similar wheels. -
1200 Pikes Peak First Day
Picked up my new multi today, 2017 bike on this years plate. Only managed to cover 50 miles bringing it home as I had family duties. Still managed to fit my 595 Zumo and Navihalter mount, Ducati/Givi tank bag with ring, touratech side stand foot (that i kept from my hyper SP) and Ctek charging cable. Evo tech guards are going on tomorrow then hopefully Sunday I can put some miles on.
The clutch is so light, its going to take some getting used to!! -
1260 Trackday Multistrada 1260s
Been eagerly waiting for my first trackday with the MTS and today was the day.
Firstly, the bike works on track! I started in the red group (highspeed with plates) and it didn´t take many turns before I found myself scraping pegs, gearlever and brakelever keeping up with the fast pack.
Setup:
- Standard Multistrada 1260S
- Front&Rear tires at 2.1 bar cold
- Tires: OEM Pirelli Scorpion Trail II
- Ride mode: Sport
- Front suspension: Preload 3 turns in, compression and rebound electronically set to max
- Rear suspension: Preload set to max (pillon&luggage), compression and rebound electronically set to max
Engine: Punch out of corners is amazing, 2´nd or 3´rd didn´t matter much, the oomph gutted me and the bike forward with ease. On the straits I could keep up with most of the R-bikes and I saw 220kph on the long straight at Rudskogen.
Quickshifter and autoblipper: Worked really good on track. Blipping down into corners without clutch was effortless and the engine breaking helped... -

1198 1198 Review
Here's my review of the 1198 base model I owned for nearly 3 years....
I've read comments on here that the 1198 is the last of the analogue dukes, that's a fair summary.
I had mine from new having traded in a vtr sp2 for it. I ran it standard without any mods as it pretty much did what it said on the tin from the off.
The looks are sublime, I've yet to see a sports bike that matches the 1198 in looks. It were mechanical art from any angle.
Riding was a whole different ball game. I've run many a sports bike but this bike truly was a "racer on the road"....
Below 100mph no gear seemed suitable, the suspension was harsh, the riding poisition was crippling and the transmission snatchy (especially in town).... But when this bike wakes up, it is a truly awesome experience. Grab it by the scruff of the neck and ride it like you stole it and it rewards you with handling, power, feedback and pure adrenaline like no other.
The motor was the real surprise for me (I'd had vtr sp2 & rsv... -

996 Looks Like I’m A Ducatista After All
It’s actually happened.
I set out to buy an early 750 or 900ss as an investment and along the way I seem to have become the proud owner of a rather splendid 996R.
I won’t actually be taking possession for a few weeks, so here is a Facebook clip of it having just been serviced by the wonderful Ray Petty at Ray Petty Mechanica.
(apologies but I cant seem to embed it)

Thanks so much to Exige and others on here for helping me find my path.
To say that I’m chuffed is an understatement. -
First Temporary Exhibition Hosted By The Ducati Museum Gets Under Way
Borgo Panigale, Bologna, 22 May 2018 – The Ducati Museum, renewed in 2016 to mark the company's 90th anniversary, will be hosting its first temporary exhibition until 15 September 2018.
“The Desmo Twins of young Hailwood®” is only the first of many themed exhibitions that the Ducati Museum will organize within its showrooms.
The exhibition brings together three race bikes built between 1958 and 1960 by the unforgettable Fabio Taglioni. In part, these represent the early career of one of the world's most famous riders: Mike Hailwood®.
The Desmo Twin 125, 250 and 350 cc represent a period of fervid creativity by the Romagna-born engineer. Built at the specific request of Mike's father, they would go on to give the popular rider his first victories. Now, almost sixty years later, these ultra-rare bikes have finally been reunited in an exhibition that is an integral part of the 40th anniversary celebrations of "Mike the Bike's" win at the 1978 Tourist Trophy.

New Streetfighter Here Already!
So, here it is. The new Streetfighter 1098S (mine anyway). This bike will double as a cloaking device for my V4 Speciale and later in the year will metamorphosise into just that, thus fooling my gf that I did a straight swop (not sure if she has access to the internet, hopefully not)!
I'm aware though that they are in significant demand so if anyone here is in need of one, drop me a pm. It ticks all the right boxes!

Shameless Plug For Moto Rapido
This is the second time in 2 days that I have to say a big thank you to MotoRapido, only today they excelled at customer service.
Out for a quick blast today and noticed my brake lever pulling in a little further than I like, so stopped to alter the span adjuster. On trying to rotate it, the thumb wheel was seized solid. So went home, removed hand guards and both levers, sprayed in WD40, and could not even move with pliers.
I phoned Andy in service down at MR, and within 1 hour, he had supplied 2 brand new levers which he merely asked for a signature only. No payment was required and he did the warranty claim while I was on route with the duff levers.
I swapped over the spring and plunger mechanism to the new levers, and they are now fitted and all is fine. All Andy asked, was that when I'm next about, I drop the old levers in.
Once again, MotoRapido have proved themselves to be an above and beyond type dealer, and makes it very difficult to ever consider leaving the marque.

1260 Mutley 1260s Test Ride Review
First and foremost, my thanks go out to MotoRapido for lending me the bike to start with.
OK, this review is my own thoughts and opinion's so giving me a kicking or disagreeing will prove fruitless as it's only my own thoughts and owners or other folk alike may find things different on their own bikes, or demo rides they go on.
I won't bother mentioning the brakes or suspension as they are the same as the DVT, and both the M50's and the Skyhook are epic imo, and the one to go for would be the "S" if money is not an issue.
The bike I rode was a 67 plate with just shy of 2000 miles on it, so is probably still not fully loosened up but will be getting there. Temperature today was a barmy 26 and not a cloud, all roads were dry.
Firstly, the motor. While it is without doubt stronger in the mid range, the bike feels no faster than a 1200DVT, but it definitely has the stronger pull at the 4-6k rev mark. However, it feels a little bit more linear and has lost some of that top end rush...
