As a second offence I'm sorry but I have no sympathy, the victims in this are the children he groomed, not him and the fact that's he's been named on the forum.
this is Nog. Firstly, I don't condone what he's done at all. It's illegal and he is rightly being punished for it. I heard about him being on remand a few weeks ago and was asked to keep it quiet, which, since he hadn't been tried, I did. I only became aware of what he had been charged with maybe three weeks ago and thought it best not to comment on it until I had the chance to talk to him about it. This EADT article is wrong on many points: firstly, the site used to ensnare David was not MSN chat, it was Facebook. Secondly, the 'girl' was pretending to be 15, not 13 - a small difference, but important. Thirdly, the 'girl' was incredibly provocative - I know this because she 'friended' me on facebook (I accepted because she 'knew' David and several others on here) and posted extremely inappropriate pictures of a young girl wearing not very many clothes and inviting comment on her body and poses. Eventually, she disappeared, probably because I didn't bite. Apparently (I don't know for sure) David arranged to meet her, probably for sex and that's illegal. After he got in touch with me, one of Davids buddies filled in the blanks: apparently, Davids prior for this was many years ago when he had consensual sex with two fifteen year olds after a party. He was (rightly) charged and convicted of having unlawful sex with a minor. He was jailed for a long time and as far as I know, didn't reoffend until this carrot was dangled in front of him. My view of this is that David has done wrong. He's broken the law, which rightly exists to protect children. He's been convicted and jailed for (I believe) four years. His punishment has been handed down by the court. I can understand why many people here and elsewhere will want nothing more to do with him, but personally I think if he does his time and doesn't reoffend, he's paid his debt to society. That's the purpose of the courts and jail. If you think differently, that's understandable.
And you heard his previous from a 'mate' Jerry, hardly going to be all the facts. Would you admit what you'd done to your mates? The Police use tactics to catch predators, this just happens to be one of those tactics and this is the result. Where as you and I would say no and report the girl to Facebook, he obviously didn't. He deserves no sympathy.
no, Andy, this was entrapment. The pictures posted were extremely disturbing. I cannot understand how people can be attracted by children under the age of consent, but this was inappropriate. Davids response was completely wrong and he's rightly being punished for it, but to dangle something like that in front of someone? No, just wrong.
Is it me , or is it the fact that he's been done twice for the same kind of offence !!! Guilty as charged ............ In my opinion , there's 1 less PERV around ....................................

Nope! As i understand it not according to the Crown court judge...but you could perhaps offer them your advise? As i began on this thread it should be removed...it is not going to be particularly helpful for anyone.
