  1. Think there are a few of us in the same boat Steve sadly

  2. the law is there to protect, as so many have said, and thankfully it has worked. I never met or communicated with him, but followed his BSB blog with interest and it goes to show you just cannot tell.

He11cat - from what I gather you have a certain set of "spider-senses" and were worried, but I'm sure not to the extent of this revelation.

Well done to the force(s) involved, hope it sends enough of a message to those who think the line is a blur - it isn't and we as adults have to have a moral compass that knows when to say "No", if there are some who need their's tuning, well, let the rehab folks in nick sort that and leave us to just say "No" when something is just plain wrong.

  3. It's not unusual that we read or hear things about sexual abuse etc it appears to be more 'common' these days. no child should be subjected to any form of sexual advances/abuse however unfortunately not all children can be instantly protected from this kind of subjection. Young teenage girls and i dont suggest all but they can be quite luring for men and whilst a majority of men would not succumb to such advances there are those that unfortunately fall foul Nog being one of them, what he has done is unforgivable, shameful and disgusting and although he is serving his time justice is not done, any child subjected to this would have life suffering mental illness and possibly physically, and that's a sentence in itself.

This thread in my opinion is welcome on here but as far as I am concerned Nog is no longer.

  4. He's a 55 year old man, doesn't matter whether the girl pretended she was 13 or 15, I can't believe some people on here are saying its wrong, yet still presenting mitigating factors/circumstances!

    Unbelievable!

  6. "Unforgivable?"

I don't think so. I don't think things are nearly so cut and dried.

Consider this: In Kick Ass 2, the pink Ducati-riding star is the 15 year old Chloe Grace Moretz. You're not trying to tell me she wasn't largely casted for her sex-appeal. Look at this video:

This seems completely indicative to me of how society applies double standards. You can't have mainstream films being made casting minors in sexy roles and then want to condemn totally the unwise fool who falls into such a trap. Society has to take some of the blame here. If we're serious about such things, then underage models and minors in unsuitable roles should also be illegal. If you sexualise kids, are you surprised what happens? If you agree so strongly that underage models and sexualised kids in films should be illegal, what are you trying to do about it?

You then also give kids the electronic gadgets to play in a dodgy adult world. The responsibility for this has to lie largely with parents.

Now, I think that 50 years olds grooming 15 year olds is grim, illegal and needs to be punished, sure. But "unforgivable"?. It would be grim if a 50 year old tried the same thing on 16 or 17 year old girls to be honest, even if it wouldn't be strictly illegal.

Things like this happen partly because of the society we as adults have created. It's easy to get on a high horse and see everything as black and white, open and shut. It's just not that simple.

  7. Gobsmacked disgusted and very disappointed, there was me worrying he'd had some sort of accident what a twat.

  8. It is unforgivable and his actions shouldn't be defended in any context the man is pure scum

  9. I was thinking not to join the converstion however. I know David since about 2005 and as said by Imola his behaviour was just of normal single bloke. For those married try to remember before times. You meet up with lads, and you talk about women, sex, drink and have fun. Nothing odd there. Same was with David. If that is a sign of something wrong then by good we are living in f up times. I do not agree with what he did but I will also not forget how great of a mate he is. Sorry but I do not judge people on one action but rather on sequence of events. Living in London I dear you to go out to night club and not get fulled in to thinking a 15y old is actually 16 or 17, 18 even. I like to think that I always get alarm bells ringing and leave but who knows few years ago when I was 22-23 who knows .

Jerry let me know if you plan a visit I will come along.

On subject of entrapment well many countries do not allow that and I say it should be illegal. How many of you would purchase cheaper alcohol or cigarette if you were given the chance. However you would not actively search for place selling it?

  10. Firstly, it was a repeat offence, so not just a little faux-pas, and secondly, maybe a twenty something may try to get together with a younger lady and completely mis judge it, but he is almost old enough to be her grand father, who is he trying to kid?

as a forty something single bloke, I wouldn't begin to think about anything like what it appears he was thinking, sorry, you are wrong on many counts.

entrapment it may have been, but trying to compare contraband booze and fags with child sex/ peadophilia, you need to take a step back and re-calibrate.

  11. Efcbluepete. Sorry but disagree there is plenty 15y olds that look easy 19y of age. Even on the school teacher thread many said that girl looked older then she was, and she was not even trying on those school photos to look older!! 50y old hooking up with much younger woman well that in reality is more natural then you may think when you think about it. If both sides agree see no problem there what ever floats your boat. There is a legal line you can not cross rest is a matter of opinion only. I am not saying I agree but that is the reality.

With entrapment I just used easy example that does work just as well. Sorry but you either allow it or you do not. Police behind you on your tail trying to make you go faster then booking you for speeding. Police doing you for purchasing a gun that you were looking for only because police failed to protect you and your family during robbery. There is plenty examples. There are people that need help and they will look for a way to help them self's. Sometimes that means doing illegal stuff that police can entrap you on. Now in David's case how did the police get involved, and was the girl looking people, parents found out, police took over. The if that is the case should parents not bear some responsibility? If it was police from start as per Jerry pictures showed by that girl were in bad taste and wrong. How did police and brain them and why did they use them?

  12. I don't know Nog or condone his actions.

If Jerry thought the pics were in bad taste, why didn't Nog?

Did Nog know that the "girl" was underage, or was he told she was older than 16?

Arranging to meet her, knowing she was underage, shows he knew what he was getting into. Regardless of her looking older.

He has admitted his gulit, if he were innocent, he had the option to go to trial and plead his case.

To his credit, he has held his hands up, saving on court time and costs.

I feel sorry for the guy who didn't get his belt service.

  13. I wonder what he pleaded guilty to? If he knew she is under 15 or not does not change the fact he went to meet with her. Pleading guilty can have two meanings. I am guilty of arranging meet I knew she is 15 or I am guilty of arranging a meet but I was thinking she is 16.

  14. From EADT 24

"Nicholson pleaded guilty to his most recent offences at an earlier hearing before Bolton Crown Court.
On that occasion he admitted he attempted to meet a child under the age of 16 following grooming, causing a child under 16 to look at images of sexual activity and sending a grossly offensive message"

  15. Not OK even once. Sorry. :frown:

I didn't know the man and I'm completely speechless. I seriously do not know what to say.

  16. Well as the bloke who was looking for a belt service I'm gobsmacked! I don't know Nog personally and had only spoken to him on the phone, so cannot really form an opinion of him. However I'm disgusted at what he has done, particularly as it is a second offence, and will now find a different mechanic. There have been lots of posts regarding mitigating circumstances etc, and as a 50 year old bloke myself, I'd like to think I would be able to stop myself from doing what he did, but we aren't all "wired" the same. Most folk would have alarm bells going off in their head telling us not to go there, unfortunately there are some for whom this warning system fails. Thank you to all who tried to help me when I put out the original post to find Nog, and I'm sorry that this has been the outcome. Chris

  17. Hellcat, I've tried to pm you but your inbox is full!

  18. Imola, I saw your post on FB and I thought someone had done something stupid so I apologise for my comments, this story unravelled in the following posts and my comments were misplaced.

Ive known Dave through Racing in DD for some years but that's all so I've never really had an opinion of him, seemed like a nice guy every time I'd met him in a paddock somewhere and it's not something that I'd even conceive he was capable of, shows how easy it is to blend in I guess.

This has however completely bowled me over, entrapment whatever the guys been convicted... TWICE! And to me that's the key point, the first time was for real let's not forget, and there's more than likely a poor woman or two out there now who's life has been shattered by him many years ago. What also worries me and obviously there isn't any evidence of it is how many other girls have potentially gone through the same that unfortunately the police didn't have the means to intervene? He's a sexual predator and everyone, EVERYONE knows right from wrong so let's not try and defend what's happened here.

Id also imagine every single one of his friends, associates etc through Facebook, twitter, forums etc has or is being vetted as we speak... In some cases that could be you or I!

I'd hope his time locked up will be used constructively and he seeks whatever support etc is offered to him, however I unfortunately doubt this will work as the records already show he's a repeat offender, keep him locked as long as the law allows.

I certainly won't be paying him a visit in prison.

  19. Luca, it's all very well saying girls look older and I'm sure many lads have fallen foul of this after a night out. But he's not a young lad, he's a 55 year old man who groomed a girl he'd never met, on the internet, sent her explicit pictures and no doubt messages, knew she was underage, then drove to meet her for sex with a mattress in the back of his van. How many girls has this happened to that we or the Police don't know about? He deserves no sympathy.

  20. It was all premeditated. No excuses. And no sympathy from me.
