Findus beef/horse Lasagne

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by multi1200, Feb 8, 2013.

  1. I just love Findhorse foods

  2. Pete1950 maybe it would be worth holding that opinion till they find out where horse meat came from? As horses are like any other meat in the least half of EU they have same rules towards them as cows. System can still potentially be fine until the point where manufacturer takes any meat that is right price from meat supplier, no questions asked.

I for one do not believe those manufacturers knew nothing.

As it is late now I am going to hit the hay ;)

  3. I find the whole horse thing highly amusing (and it has produced the best jokes for ages).

I bet you anything you like that soon the Chinese will be providing ready meals and they won't just have beef in them.

I don't buy any ready-meals, because I like decent food too much and cooking something tasty doesn't take that long. You can make your own beef-burger in a few minutes, or lasagne come to that. When I worked in central London though, there was barely any fresh food available - just wall after wall of ready meals. I appreciate that many people work so hard and commute so far that the microwaveable meal seems to have become a necessity. The question is, what sort of society is it when you can't even find the energy to cook? (Could it be the society where you feel you have to continually buy stuff you don't need and work like a bastid so that you can afford it?)

The guy on the telly, bitterly disappointed about the Findus lasagne as it's been a typical end of week treat for him and his wife. Get a frigging grip. Make your own, you twat - it'll be far better.

In the meantime, no one gives a toss that all the pork and bacon comes from multistorey Dutch intensive pig farms where the animals live on slatted concrete and never see the light of day. Oh it's so easy to turn a blind eye. And we do all deserve to be able to buy a chicken for £1. Who cares if it's full of hormones and antibiotics?

  10. Bet Greene King wishes they'd chosen another brand name for their dining pubs. Somehow "Hungry Horse" no longer seems a good idea
