Looks bloody good! (Gotta dig mine out of the shipping container ~1200 miles away from where I live )
Mot done yesterday Did good 100 miles on the bike and it feels great! The wheels have transformed the way it rides, and the airbox is literal music to the ears
Feels more nimble all round. So much lighter, front end a bit more excitable, roads were pretty damp so didn’t go mad as scrubbing in tyres but feels awesome
Bit quiet as of late had one good ride out and not had a chance since! Did get to Goodwood yesterday, some lovely old bits there!
I am not sure they got that 2/4 stroke race quite right. The 4 strokes were especially disappointing.
Few little bits done last night, 916 had its original airbox back on and decided to go with some stock grips as that bike really is looking tidy now. 996 had a coolant level check and bolt check on all the new hose clamps. looking forward to some miles on the yellow bike this summer!
Exactly, I have done many mods to my 916; more power, less weight, brakes, suspension etc. but the biggest gain by far was fitting lighter wheels.
Managed to get the 916 out, left in the dry little rain on the way home, was lovely to get out regardless. the bike it’s worlds apart from the 996 it’s so tight and rides flawlessly.
What do you mean by that? I'm curious, do you mean through age/more use or they fundamentally "ride differently"? Cheers Grant
The 996 with the new wheels and more aggressive suspension setup is a much firmer ride. Turns faster, feels so much quicker! but the 916 having had pretty much everything new, just feels like a new bike it’s great, nowhere near as fast but smiles for miles I love the yellow and sounds great with the arrow cans
nothing new to report, out in the sun a few evenings of late, bikes feel great! and the TT is on which is always good news! Dunlop is on it!
