First knee down ever

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by Wellesley, Aug 23, 2012.

  1. Its a great gauge as to pace. Spent 20 years trying it and it happened around Gerrads at Mallory couple years ago. Not I can wear a set of sliders out on a track day! But its easy to know how quick I'm going; if my knee isnt down I can go faster. Well its my general rule of thumb and has taken seconds off laptimes everywhere.

    Enjoy :upyeah:

  2. *sigh*,
    that sweet patella/tarmacadam interface..

wiping away a teary eye here...we all remember our first time. mine was 15 years ago on a large roundabout on the A46 onboard my old fireblade. second time i think i got my elbow down, then my lid, then my arse.

this is how the big boys play though.

  3. First time for me was on my Suzuki RG125 Gamma on 'L' plates when I was 17. Used to strap / tape old football shin pads on my knees over my jeans and get knee down everywhere- roundabouts, traffic light junctions, car parks... Happy times! 15 years later get my knee down most days on the way into work (weather permitting).
