Hi Jez, I have a 40 year old Honda and a 30 year old BMW so a 25 year old motorbike feels like the cutting edge of technology to me.
I believe it was only the early ones that had a frame cracking problem - white frame ones and more prevalent with the 900 SS. If you find one with cracks just walk away. They can be welded but this means a strip down and re-paint of the frame.
