  1. I dont understand how he expects to get money,or am I being dim?

  2. presumably he will ask for a deposit

  3. Spread enough corn

  4. Exactly the same message as I got. It is an O2 registered phone, that I have learnt so far. Still waiting for an email.

I have asked to come to him bearing a big wad of cash, I'll see if that tempts him but I doubt it. If he wants a deposit he will have to provide proof and again I'll see where that leads, nowhere no doubt as most scammers when challenged drop you.

Just compared the time he sent the message to the above, exactly the same time 11.10am. for me also.

  5. If he is in Montenegro as per his email suffix ".me" then he will probably come up with some scam like transferring the money into an escrow account. Bogus of course.
I followed something similar once with a 4x4 on auto trader.
Guy sent me bank details and asked me to transfer money into this so called escrow account.

I made up a fake transfer document and had him running to the bank everyday to see if the money had cleared his account. At the end I told him he's a c..t stealing money from folks that work hard to earn theirs!

It's good to follow these through too understand how the scamsters operate.

  6. apple iCloud is a .me address as well as the .iCloud, so he could be anywhere.

  7. I received this just now, anyone else got the same?

"Hi and thanks for the email. I am sorry for the late reply. The bike is in very good condition, no problems here, no VAT added, can go straight to riding. I must tell you that it belonged to my grandfather who unfortunately passed away 3 months ago. The price I am looking for is 4,800 pounds (I can also have it delivered within the UK for 120 pounds). Please see the attached pictures. Let me know if you are still interested. It's located in Foveran, near Aberdeen.

See below some features on the bike:
A pristine bike that has only had one loving owner and only covered 1700 dry miles from new and comes with, colour coded seat cowl, passenger seat and foot pegs (removable), Ducati traction control, Ducati quick shift, larger capacity aluminium fuel tank, 320mm Brembo brakes, Ohlins TTX rear suspension, carbon heel plates, still has factory warranty until 22/5/2015, and full main dealer service history. There are only a handful of these bikes in the UK and are already becoming collectible.

    Thank you,
    Anna & James Croft"

I did an IP check which suggests he is in the UK and is in fact in London near Cheapside, near Trump street. According to my IP check he is in a business park near The Investment Intelligence building, although in his email he states he is in Foveran Aberdeen.

  8. My mate works at rackspace if its the same hub that he's coming out of.....he left our office about 6 months ago so I might be able to get his new email address from my boss....dunno if that helps....probably not...but it is nice to see how these things unfold.

  9. At least it looks like there might be some mileage from a baiting point of view? At the moment I suspect he is working on a script as he doesn't directly answer my questions.

  10. Keep going. Would be good to silence this scamster for good.

  11. This is the latest, the plot unfolds! and all of a sudden the husband is unwell!! how convenient. Has anyone else had this from "him" yet.

"Let me explain. I do not live in Foveran, we are based in Cadiz, Spain so I can't go there every time someone wants to see it, plus I can't go alone as I am a woman and my husband James is unfit to travel. I will get somebody to bring it to you (a neighbour of my late grandfather) if you decide to buy it but we have to close the deal through eBay. Delivery can be arranged in 2-3 days and you will have the chance to inspect it before I get paid, only if we go through PayPal as well. We will use PayPal - Pay After Delivery which gives you 14 days for the bike to be delivered before any funds are released to me. PayPal will securely hold the funds. Please read below about PayPal (Pay after delivery).

Pay After Delivery - Learn More

Everything is covered by eBay, they will keep your money secured during the inspection period. This purchase protection guarantees that the bike is exactly as I described it; basically, once delivered, you'll have 5-7 days to inspect it and if you decide not to keep it you will get refunded in no time and they will charge me with the return costs. I will get paid only after you confirm that you received the bike in good order.

If you like it, let me know your ebay user id along with a phone number and your name, address where it must be delivered so i can register the sale with ebay to proceed.

If you will decide to not go through now then is not a problem I still quite have a few more offers from potential buyers. Hopefully, I made myself understood and we will be closing the deal. I look forward to hearing from you soon

    Thanks
    Anna & James Croft"

  13. Someone is working overtime today! two messages in one day. The second is an exact repeat of the first one above suggesting that a script is being used.

Waiting for the next contact now but I reckon I might get dropped so I am not asking difficult questions. I suspect there is a bit of a flaw in this plan and it hasn't been fully worked through, so far it looks like "his" plan is not going the way it might as I am trying to get him off script.

  14. Next instalment.

"I already explained and the email was sent twice because this computer has a mind of his own. I will raise the transaction thru with PayPal and they will invoice you over with all the necessary information on how to deposit the funds secure thru PayPal. Shortly after i will arrange delivery and if you decide not to keep the bike they will not release any funds to me and it will go straight back into your account. Thank you, Anna & James"

I suspect now I might be looking at a fake Paypal email to send the money.

  15. The last two replies, a Paypal scam by the look of it.

"Its taxed for 6 more months. Can you go to aberdeen to see it ? if yes when."

"I won't be sending any documentation over an email or any other ways. You have the registration number can easily do a hpi check on that. if you want to go through PayPal PAD as explained or to collect until it goes to another home. Your call. Anna"

  16. A few years ago I was selling a car of my own that was quite rare and had been in a few magazines. I had an enquiry in broken English from someone in Spain saying that he was a retired pro footballer and would buy my car for full asking price as long as I could hold it for a while whilst he sorted import docs. I was told by everyone that he was a scammer , and ignored his offer. He didn't give up, and even told me his friend played for Aston villa and he would bring me the cash. Sure enough a white Bentley rolled up with the player driving and paid me my deposit. Fast forward a few month the guy from Spain came to collect and paid in cash straight in to my bank. Turns out he also had been on holiday a few months before with my brother in law who is also a Spanish footballer. Small world. Not everyone is a scammer but just use common sense. We still keep in contact now.

  18. Yes this guy is the real deal - I have reported him to Ebay several times and Ebay do nothing. Disgusting that nothing can be done!

  19. Next instalment, notice the insistence on Paypal, I reckon this is where the scam is.

"The v5 has already been signed. You are not sending any payment to me. As i have explained in my 2nd email, PayPal will hold the funds until you view/inspect the bike and documents and agree to purchase. I can give you information regarding the number of owners or service history. Let me know what you need and if the bike or history is not like i have offered the bike for sale, then you will get a full refund , actually i won't get any funds from PayPal until you receive, inspect and agree to purchase the bike . Thank you, Anna & James"
