It's a kind of trait of tall softish suspension. I had a DR650 on std wheels that needed the whole of my lane to corner at speed, but my KX500 supermoto with properly set suspension was great. Both though needed balls on the tank and sometimes a leg out front to get some more feel from the front. Sitting back, upright and feeling like a parachute did have the front all light. Having seen a BMW gs touching it's heads on the floor at well past motorway speeds with a bolt upright rider i'm guessing feeling grip and having grip are 2 very different things.
