Discussion in 'Racing & Bike Sport' started by redsail, Nov 18, 2015.

  1. ET you could even start your own snowboard school next to it

  2. Everyone could pop in Ducbirds for a cuppa,on the way there.

  3. It's difficult to determine fact from fantasy with your arguments ET. :Hilarious:

But you don't get to claim your internal thoughts as objective facts. My interpretation was perfectly reasonable: the facts were that Gliddofglood mentioned London and you replied with 'accessibility'. The allusion was that if it's not built near a major English metropolis it can't possibly be accessible. Which is complete bunkum.

  4. as said i haven't seen the plans
    racing.
    trackdays.
testing and development (big business in the south east surly you could attract some of that)
    festivals
tracks within tracks. motocross, trials and go karts.
    airshows?
    hotels
    conferences
remind me why great was ever put in front of Britain?

  5. Fortunately the UK already has plenty of top-class well equipped automotive testing and development sites. Start with:
    • Gaydon Centre, Warwickshire
    • MIRA Nuneaton, Warwickshire
    • Millbrook Proving Grounds, Bedfordshire
    • Dunton, Essex
There are others. A new one anywhere will find it difficult to break into this market, with so many well established players.

  9. ultimately it will always come down to costs, building, promotion transport. backhanders, old boys network.
it just depends on the imagination and effort the backers are prepared to put in.

  10. Let me help you, and I cannot make this any plainer to you even with your rose coloured spectacles.....the fact is this will be a white elephant. An expensive white elephant that the public will need to bail out.

But you enjoy whilst it's open.

  11. it will be about as useful as a snowboard in leeds

  12. Looking forward to it, and unlike Rockingham its being built with multiple worldclass use as well as a cheaper bedrock for future motorsport development.

Be great to think in 20 years it will have the hotbed of technical talent there is on the m40 corridor

  13. "Aston Martin is to build its new luxury car in south Wales, creating 750 highly-skilled jobs."

"It will include a skills academy, which will make St Athan and the Vale of Glamorgan a centre of excellence."

  14. The design team had in mind a driver who was a young woman, American - and rich. The fictitious customer was dubbed Charlotte and seen as "an attractive lady, cool, in her 30s".

Nearly got me spot on there!

I for one hope it's a success for all concerned

  15. DBX safety cars for the circuit?
I'll have to fit a windscreen wiper to me satnav screen then :tearsofjoy:

  16. It'll never happen. Said it at the start of this fiasco and stand by it.

  17. I don't think it'll happen....but I really hope it does

  18. The Welsh Government have announced that they will not 100% guarantee the funding for the circuit. It's headline news on Welsh TV with the statement that 6000 new jobs are at risk
