Peaks and valleys – the story behind the Circuit of Wales "Aside from the circuit, the plans for which show an undulating layout designed chiefly with motorcycles in mind"
Shouldn't think noise restriction will matter too much it's on top of a hill far away from civilisation (there isn't much anyway . ) only sheep Great biking roads up to there I think it's perfect for everyone and it's 30 min drive for me Hurry up and get it done
I'm going to go and buy a house within 1/2 a mile, should cost about £3,567.50 for a 3 bed. Then as soon as they start building I'll start kicking up a fuss. Obviously I'd be willing to sell my house to facilitate the circuit.
anyone know where you can find the specs for the track? as in length of main straight, width of track, heights and gradients? looking on their website the give they length of the track at 5.3 km but thats all i can find. they have an image as posted by Red899, but no scale.
They haven't published too many final details however there is a scale GA drawing in the planning section of the site http://www.circuitofwales.com/media/1346/populous-a-mp-ga-1001.pdf It looks like a belting layout
it does look good. with a couple of shorter track options. some one mentioned it was flat, i was interested in what the actual elevation changes over what distances would be, looks like it could be quite interesting depending on this. the image that red899 put up gives some indication.
It's not that flat up there loads of hills and dales as I think it was all mined Here's a couple pics of the area
i think that it might be defined in here somewhere, rhetorically of course. https://www.nao.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/10320-001-Over-optimism-in-government-projects.pdf
If you don't like the idea of a track in mid Wales; then don't go. If you're no hard enough to withstand a bit of wind and rain, then don't go. Somehow I don't think you'll be missed...
