Looks OK, doesn't it? Here's some observations..........may be because it is an early model though........ Rear brake hose is routed incorrectly. Carb overflow / drain hoses on wrong side of bike....should only be two hoses there.....one being the tank filler cap overflow and the other being the tank breather hose. Fuel hoses wrongly routed, should be over the top of the vertical cylinder..... Looks like the stronger swing arm with the deeper brace. I hate those flip-up screens, though...........never look right to me......
looks a nice and clean example now I think you need to sort the title of the thread and change it to found 900 ss and didn't mean to dismantle it but got carried away oh the last bit was me wasn't it damn lol
I'd noticed the rear brake hose - looks aweful where it is. I have the original swingarm and he mentioned the one on was slightly different so I'd assumed it was a stronger newer one. Thanks for pointing out the other stuff. Something for me to start looking at. I think the fairing is slightly too far back looking at the front light and the upper side fairing mounts seem to angle back slightly so need to look into that. Good point - title now changed. I'm hoping to have a couple of rides before the dismantling starts.
I need to find some literature before I get on with some of the stuff. Preferably in pdf format for download. Can someone point me in the right direction for the following :- 1. Original parts catalogues for successive years from 91 to 96 so I can check part number changes? 2. Owners manual for 1991. 3. Workshop manual for 1991 (nice to have as I do have a dog eared paper copy but that's bound to fall to bit's with excessive use). 4. Original magazine articles. I started trawling google but you end up with so many duff links it turns into a pain. A good source for parts other than ebay.
I have what you want, but it is a huge download and I don't have my website anymore, so I can't FTP and upload it...... I'm happy to try Dropbox......
looks a lot like one I looked at recently in Blackwater near Camberley - had a clump of paint separated on front fender on r/h side and seat chafing on r/h side panel.
