848 Front Brake Guard

Discussion in '848 / 1098 / 1198' started by Fastmonkey, Apr 25, 2014.

  1. Yep thanks for that, I'll try one for £17 posted............

  2. When you put them in your hand they are nice bits of kit.... That's as about all the pro's.

    Cons....
I'm 6ft, no where near enough adjustment options to get them nice.
Both brake and gear shift levers touch the belly pan.... So much so I had to cut mine down a fair bit
Getting spares is a bloody nightmare
The brake lever pivot bolt is made from a aluminium..... But is more like cheese, given what it does it's a bloody daft idea making it from ally...... Mine snapped
Bungs in the foot pegs fell out on the m5 somewhere

I've since returned to gilles, they just work.... Simples. That said if I found some nice course ones I woulda gave them a go

  3. Think you might have posted this in the wrong thread matey.

We're talking about brake and clutch lever protectors, not sure what Gilles rearsets have to do with this thread? I'm seriously confused lol

  4. mentioned it earlier

  5. Was replying to a earlier post on the thread, hence the quote

  6. Thanks for the heads-up! I'll stick to Rizoma's then. The lack of adjustability isn't really a thing for me, but the lack of quality is.

  7. Just in-case you didn't know He's talking about rear set's not brake & clutch lever guards ;-)

  8. I know, I was the one who asked about the rear sets ;)

  9. Old age don't come by itself :) d'oh!
