Yeah, I had the wheel off, put in a vice and spun all the bobbins up while squirting brake cleaner on them. Then I used a fine grade of wet and dry with brake cleaner to decontaminate/deglaze the discs, put new pads and cleaned the calipers but it reverted to same within a few km from home. It was like this when I bought it at 20K km.
Just replace mine at 28k miles. The rears needed replacing, not the front, but I didn't want to have to mess with them next year so I replaced the fronts as well.
What front disk pads do you use? Original Ducati version or something like EBC or Golden things, again not hard on brakes here at all but if I need to be I want to stop smartish.
Brembo 07BB3793 Sintered, which I believe are the original spec for the 1200S (2015+), from Carpi Moto https://www.carpimoto.com/en-US/40381_07BB3793-Brake-Pads-Brembo-07BB3793-Sintered-Sport.htm Other makes and suppliers are available.
I've tried a few types. Ducati pads most expensive, and also work well. Brembo pads slightly cheaper but imo give more initial bite. Carbon Loraine, great pads, well under half the price of brembos, and equally as good. Struggled to find any last time though. Bendix were the cheapest and did the job well, certainly didnt give any cause for concern. All of the above are Sintered HH type, and last roughly the same number of miles.
