I have them on my '11 MTS 1200. As mentioned I had to tap the valve around so they'd clear my monoblocks. The only criticism I have is that the batteries don't last long in the sensors.
Is that because / do you think it is because: (a) the unit is hard on batteries (b) the batteries you're using are rubbish (c) they're all like that (d) something else I'd be interested to know as I can't see people being too happy about having to pop along to a dealer/tyre place to "have the batteries changed on the TPMS" to get it through an MOT, especially if there's nothing wrong with the tyres or the tyre pressure! Surely BMW cars don't need to go back to the dealer every 6 months for new batteries or have them replaced every service? I know that sensors are a good thing, but in this case it seems that maybe the technology isn't quite ready yet...
You can change the batteries yourself simply enough. I haven't bothered yet. It's not an MOT item as the Garmin is removable (It's not on the check sheet anyway).
Tried fitting both sensors to my Diavel carbon red 2015 ( rims are different to standard model ), the sensors won't fit The rear is too close to the brake calipers for comfort, and the front, forget it. Buyer beware.
I have them with my 590LM, work ok-ish, they disconnect now and then but work 95% of the time, you can set alert pressure and see real time data, as for hot v cold pressure on the road you wont see much change unless your racing in the TT! The new firmware lets you choose from BAR to PSI too, accurate for .5 PSI readings against my £250.00 Schrader. As said they are big, not a problem on my 2012 TDM900
the stem is right angle, with the sensor on it would hit the brembo calipers. With the rear tyre not sure why the stem is so dam long straight up, again with the sensor on it will graze the brembo's, its just asking for trouble.
Need to be a smart fool Got them free with the 590LM, will sell them. I agree nothing wrong checking them with a air gage while checking tires.
Still not understanding you. Are you saying the angle of the valve stem is somehow not adjustable on your model of Diavel? If so that is very odd, and different from other models.
Mine cost 50.00! But then I saved £7,000.00 when I got my new TDM900 over a MTS It's cool, one touch of a button and I see my tyre presure while your still looking for your pressure gauge haha, In theory if you get a slow puncture I will know as I cruse along the dual carriageway and should have enough time to take action before the tyre is totally flat not that I need a device to know when my tyres low.. Just a bit of fun tbh. It's standard with a BMW 'rolls eyes' and is much better thought out. And in truth I've not used it since I got them haha the kick test always works not that I am a tyre kicker you know.
