some say the yamaha chassis crutchlow is on is better than the 2013 yammy the factory boys are on. many times over the years factory teams release new bikes not as good as the previous bike. people too easily presume because its a factory bike it must be better/faster. not always the case. I bet my weeks pay if crutchlow was to have a few races on a factory M1 he wouldnt be as quick as tech 3 aka biaggi camel honda to repsol now I love biaggi for his wsb accomplishments. but he did bleet on a bit like crutchlow is re a factory ride and failed.
Nah, I don't buy that for a second. if that chassis was better I can 100% guarantee that both Rossi and Lorenzo would be using it, I do remember spalders making a comment along the lines of 'not all new chassis are better than the previous year' but it wasn't firm fact and again, if it was there's no doubt lorenzo would be using it and I'm pretty sure rossi would want the best available no matter what year it was. the engines may be similar if only the odd upgrade apart but one of the bigger factors is the placement of the fuel and how its weighted on the bike. both VR & JL have the new design which helps weight distribution on a full tank giving them the ability to push early on in the race, cal doesnt. itd be interesting to see him test the new bike against both the other boys but I doubt that'll ever happen, yamaha risk too much by letting there be total side by side data, they'd then be forced in to a decision openly based on marketing vs current speed/pace etc. personally I don't see why the hell they can't just give him a factory bike and still keep VR & JL where they are, it really is baffling because Tech 3 are more than capable of running their own outfit so won't need hand holding, it'd just be nice if Cal had ALL the parts available to scrap against the Hondas.
Listening to Eurosport I thought they meant that the fuel tank had been moved for 2013 and basically it's now been moved back similar to last years bike. Not sure which tank Cal is using the 2012 or the early 2013 one
And it helps Yamaha's cause to win the manf title. Is that why Honda stuck factory bikes under Bradl and possibly (bar brakes and suspension) Bautista But like all things, factory bike doesn't mean latest kit...
