  2. Coolio, may pop along if I end up at Twickers

  3. It seems to be agreed we are staying in Cochem, on the Moselle. There are several hotels along the MoselPromenade. I am contemplating staying at the Hotel Noss (or the Friedrichs, also owned by the Noss family). The other ones nearby would also be good enough, for meeting up.

  4. Come along. Bring waterproofs - lightweight ones, for August. You won't need many changes of clothes for three nights away, unless you bring the missus. Riding in France, Belgium, Germany etc is really easy. The miserable bit is when you arrive back in Blighty. Don't worry about being too fast or too slow, just go at your own pace and either wait back for the others or catch up to the others at the next change of direction. Book soon, August is busy and may get pretty booked up.

  5. You booked chunnel then pete? What time, the 1000?

  6. Is everyone booking separately? Wondered how it would work?

  7. I live about 15 miles from Guildford so will try and pop out and say hello. I don't finish work till late so won't be there until about 7 so it depends where you'll be then?

  8. Depends, in the past one has booked for all on chunnel but thats mates and you know where they live if they dont pay up ;) re hotel, have in past tended to share and one person books the rooms/negotiates the discount etc then pay when you get there. Never been asked for a deposit

  9. Re the tunnel, if you book tickets for say 10am you can arrive at the check-in within 2 hours of that and they will usually give you a pass for the next available train. So if you arrive at 9am you might be on a train well before 10am. Even if we all book for 10am, we might arrive at different times and find ourselves on trains E F or G. I'm not sure what the solution is to that.

  10. With any luck by 7pm we'll be back at the pub ordering a meal, or nearly back.

  11. Never had an issue in past pete, as we just arrange to meet at the services just before the chunnel at say 0900. Quick coffee and fill up and off

  12. Was hoping to get a ride in but it may actually be a better method of saying hello more formally, rather than through a visor?! I can always go the pretty route on the way there.

  13. It'd be better to meet this side than the other wouldn't it? (Would for me as never done the chunnel before)

  14. Dave is coming from SW so may choose somewhere closer or en route to stay. Im from the south, so A3/m25 and can pick up bods on way. Pete London somewhere so prob meet at Maidstone services or Clacket Lane depending. Then all arrive at chunnel sign in gates at same time. Long as we are booked on same time should be fine, worse case wing it

  15. Heres chunnel prices as now

  16. Don't motorcycles qualify for a reduced rate? And are we looking at the short stay saver prices?

  17. Good idea to meet at services that morning, then go to the tunnel terminal together. Suggest Westenhanger Services at M20 junction 11, which are the last services just before the tunnel.

  18. I checked out the hotel that Pete suggested (Karl Noss) and a single room cane in at just under €200..unless I'm missing something?

  19. Thats the one Pete, but dont follow me out: last time i was half way down the north slip before we realised and i had to reverse back....just to see traffic cope comimg round the top

That is bike costs and you can choose whicvere you like, I'm all for cheap ;)
