Go Pro Mounts

Discussion in 'Clothing, Gadgets & Equipment' started by turkish, Dec 26, 2014.

  1. You will quickly find that the top central position will not work at all. The Gopro needs to be mounted somewhere very solid and even if you use the 2" extension with it you will find that vibration will make most of the footage rubbish. That would also go for the top of the windscreen, where you could see it, there would be too much wobble. Perhaps you should listen to those who have tried these things rather then suggesting what most people might want.
You are welcome to buy a gopro and spend extra on an LCD backpack, and then spend time learning the lessons that us users have learned, but it will save you time and money if you accept others experiences.
I for one would not want to mount it where I could see it as it would just be a distraction.

  2. Fpmsl from a guy whos just passed his test. I'm already looking forward to the smidsey thread.

  3. well I don't care how long you have had your licence mate, but if you are doing anything which will distract you view of any blind spot then you have not had it long enough !!,, " smidsey " I have no idea.

  4. perhaps you assume too much... I did not say that I am not listening to others experiences or learn from them , why else would I be having this discussion, there are posts from those who have view screens fitted,, I am open to all opinions, not just yours, and if you have never had one fitted where it can be seen then what experience do you speak of.

  5. Even better...So who was it looking for as screen they can check on the fly?! Quality

  6. come on,, you don't do yourself any favours trying to prove a point by stating ridiculous scinarious.. I am sure that you will ( despite your numerous crashes ! ) pay appropriate due care and attention at all times so why assume that others will not also.

  7. In case you are suffering amnesia.

I like to see whats trying to kill me, take approriate actions to avoid and review the evidence later, but thanks for the concern.

  8. only mild amnesia :), perhaps you did not read what you plagerised,, may I suggest to you that the relevant word, for your benefit, is " sometimes ".. does that help.;)

  9. And 'sometimes' cars pull out when least expected, and at low speed, and bikers bitch and moan about it. Sometimes.

I prefer to maintain my eyes on whats trying to kill me all the time. Your life, fill yer boots.

  10. tbh I don't often bitch about other drivers, but then I am not a hardened biker, seen too much ,, I have been driving longer than you , and I am still alive,,, good luck to you.

  12. I use my go pro for track days; excellent debriefing tool... I mount it on the front nose fairing (848) with sticky pad; no extension pole else vibration is too much...

Only downside is battery life. I get about 60 - 80 mins max, and I plug it in between sessions to recharge / download; but by time I go out on 4 or 5th session battery dies about half way round. Got spare battery for this year...

unless you are looking for good slow motion shots; I'd go for 30 ffs and 1080p (looks better on most TV monitors). Any more and take too long to download and takes up too much disk space.

  13. I saw the screen shot earlier of my good friend TT - didn't know he was still here, but looking at the amount of posts he must be a regular 'contributor'. I was thinking of de barring him from my 'forum experience' but it appears from the above that he is still talking bollocks. If this is the case I will maintain my current status. He was bad enough before he passed his test so now he must be pretty unbearable :Wideyed:

  20. The commuter. It's an expensive trial, genuine mount, not China fleabY, not sure it will work. I am struggling to find a space. The fork looks a good spot, plenty of room.
