That'd be about right ....been putting off the Sensor recall in the hope there'd be a software update for the hazards by then (150ml round trip to my nearest dealer). Took it in last week for the recall, no updates available then......... Bugger, looks like another boring trip up to Plymouth then. :Grumpy:
I thought this was more user error than a genuine issue to be honest. However, having had the awkward moment of using my hazards to indicate left quite a few times I now must recognise it's a problem - with a fix by the looks of things. It can't be a user error as I'm perfect.
Maybe i dont use them enough, as in 3500 miles not had this once. Had the high beam come on several times, and until I worked out how it worked meant I had to pull over and turn bike off/on again, but not hazards
Yep, likewise, thought it was user/my error - but only for a couple of weeks........ you see I'm perfect too (apart from the OCD problem). I then found it was repeatable by trying a static test with ignition on, you can get it to do it somewhere between 15 & 20 operations of the left turn. Strangely isn't an exact number but always in that range, it will then be fine for another 15-20 before doing it again, you can throw in a load of rights and it will still be in that 15-20 lefts range. Switching ignition off will make it start from zero again. A lot of the time I'm out riding the wife is following on her Daytona, so she gives me a shout on the intercom if I haven't noticed. I'm sure there's a lot of '13 MTS owners out there that haven't noticed the problem, if you don't happen to look at the dash lights as it happens you're not going to realise. It's my opinion that it's common to all '13 bikes, but spoke with my dealer (GT Motorcycles) this afternoon to book it in for the patch and he'd not heard of it. I'll be glad to see it fixed as I find it irritating and potentially dangerous.
That nails it then, it's defo a software glitch, I'm also perfect, apart from the broken bits around my body, but if any thing my left thumb is the only thing I know that works right. Oh and my eye hand coordination when eating. Any how. I find I can get it to manifest this problem if I just touch the grey select button as I slide the switch to the left. To avoid this I normally have to reposition my hand so I can push the switch with my thumb with out my glove catching the said grey button. Other than that I'm awesomely perfect, or so the lady's tell me
jcmental, that's where we differ then, the good lady doesn't agree with my self opinion of perfection. Haven't tried the grey cancel while sliding, have to see if I get the same, is it repeatable? Slug, have you tried the static test I described? As I said I think there are a lot of owners unaware of the problem either because they don't ride long enough in a single hit to get 20 lefts before switching off, or just don't notice the two dash lights come up (if you miss it you're fine again for another 20). Anyways sounds like Ducati are now aware and finally come up with a software update.
Took bike in for indicator software patch today, unfortunately it doesn't work, Ducati are continuing to investigate.
That was the reason for the post. to save wasted journeys and use the fuel for more entertaining rides.
I had fun on the way back, I went from Preston on the back roads to Devils bridge and the wife treated me to 2 bacon buns and a coffee...... result
