"and the staffy situation is horrendous " Could not agree more. Go to any of the dog rescue centres and they are almost 80% full of Staffie/ crosses. All because of they brainless chavs wanting to look hard.
Well, that's set me off, well and truely. Rainbow bridge I have read before and reading it again has just made me worse. I really sorry to hear this sad news. We have our first dog, a Jack Russell, she is a rescue dog and in the 20 months we have had her I've loved every minute. She's about 4 1/2 now and I dread losing her. At the moment she's curled up asleep in the crook of my daughter'a arm in front of the fire. Tomorrow morning I will wake up and she will be in our bed with her head on my pillow. We had cats for 19 years and it was very sad when they passed away but they are very independent, I know when we lose Penny it's going to be so much worse. PS forgot which Picture I was using under my name, that's Penny appreciating my 749.
I wish there was something that could be done to stop these cretins breeding them......... I was also disgusted when talking to a lady the other day who said about a large shop near Cambs who had a little puppy for sale sitting crying. She said I should rescue it...... I hear this so often and years ago I would have said the same. Everything works on supply and demand and profit with shops doing this if everybody quit going to shops like this and puppy farms there would be no demand ... hence they would have to stop trading. No more poor pups sold in this way. I explained this to the lady who I think thought I was being hard ... but no just looking at the bigger picture. With the Staff problem ideally something needs to be brought in that all dogs are chipped , years back we had to buy a dog license , Something like that needs to be brought in again so only responsible owners have dogs. The only thing you would have to watch is forcing it underground ..but I don't think enough is being done.
Losing a pet is very sad. We shouldnt get so close but we do! On a brighter note we may have a new gsp pup by the end of today!!!
Gotta take the Family Cat on a one way visit to the Vet this afternoon. He is 18 years old, so he's had a gooden. Hes been poorly, but its that balance of 'quality of life' thats difficult to know exactly when. Can't watch him go down hill any more. Its not fair too. :frown:
That sucks Ronnie, but there's nothing anyone can say except that you're making the right decision for your cat.
