Hmm. I once shared a portion of a train journey with some chap whom I recognised vaguely. His name came to me when the train was pulling into the station and I swear he saw the realisation in my eyes because he leapt up and out of the carriageway like a bullet. As quick as, well, Derek Bell you might say, which was who he was. I was interviewed by the local paper and quoted, after attending an inquest. The first time I did a TD at Brands, I was with a mate when some random fellow approached us. "How do you like the track and facilities?" he asked. I said they were fine and he nodded and wandered off. My mate then explained that the guy was Jonathan Palmer. (I later applied for a job as Palmer's PA when it was advertised in the paper and received a really nice rejection letter). I shared a pitch at Cadwell with JPH and his Supermono. Hey, I was stoked, that sucker is beautiful (the bike, I mean). JPH gave me a 999 clutch lever and reservoir as a momento  I shared a "moment of communication" with Jon Anderson during a Yes concert - we were giving hand signals to each other. No, I don't know why ... it was a thing. I had a really drunken IM conversation with Geoff Downes (on ICQ). Apparently he was in Wales at the time and, well, I have to say, he was completely off his head. Bumped into Pete Postlethwaite in a pub in Chichester. He didn't stop to chat  Iain Banks signed my t-shirt outside a pub in Chelsea whilst I was wearing it (I'm a big fan of his). He admired the t-shirt design (it was homemade) and I ended up sending him a couple of copies. Christ, I should be on "I'm a Celebrity" with the rest of the non-entities!
sat on a train opposite Victor Ubogu coming back from london. Crumpled does not begin the describe the linen suit he was endeavouring to wear, mindful of his size/rugby position..... also sat in edinburgh airport one sat afternoon, watching the rugby with kenny Logan - lovely chap- just the two of us in front of the TV in the lounge. Gave him the benefit of my wide ranging hockey knowledge.... got into a lift in sydney with gavin hastings - he is smaller than you think- during the lions tour 2001. ( won a competition to see two test matches!!) won a comp to go to british F1 at silverstone as guests of paul stewart racing, had lunch with jackie - interesting conversationalist and some great stories. won a competition- prize a toyota Rav 4, was presented by keys/had lunch with peter alliss- god he loves his own voice. some interesting stories though and to lower the standard, collected luggage from airport reclaim alongside julian clary, handed him his bag.... same airport stood in taxi queue with ben elton en famille.
Met Desmond Tutu, Steven Spielberg and JJ Abrams. They're my highlights of quite a few...line of work and all that. Oh and Scarlet Johansson. Hubba hubba.
I am (was) the schoolboy in the red tie on the front of the AC/DC album Dirty Deeds done Dirt Cheap. Does that count?
Some others that come to mind. Walked into a betting shop and Tony Curtis was standing there. At least I think it was him - 99% certain. Served Jack Warner (Dixon of Dock Green) in a pub I worked in. Little and Large came in for a meal in the restaurant I worked in. (Barrel scraping now). Neil Coles the golfer and Sally James off of Tiswas bought cars from/had them serviced in the garage where I worked.
I've met, and had a very brief chat with Bob Geldof, and when I was very young attended an evening with Martin Peters and got to wear one of his England caps and was in the local papers photo of the event! I also used to work at the local music venue and could get in free if I was prepared to help the roadies at the end of the night so helped out for many bands including Motörhead and AC/DC ( when they first came to the UK), compared to Cooknick I've done nothing, but she needs to tell you of her adventures with famous bands!
In my previous life ( before I met Archer) my ex was a roadie and I spent a fair amount of time out on tour with various bands touring around Europe, Bon Jovi, Rolling Stones, AC/DC and Metallica to name but a few. I remember sitting at a party on the last night of the Stones Voodoo Lounge European tour in Amsterdam getting merry with Mick Jagger wondering where the wrinkles in his linen jacket finished and the ones in his neck started and also thinking that Jerry Hall looked like a horse.
I shared the pit lane wall at Assen with Maria Costello not knowing who she was at the time Lovely lady Also met Boyce from only fools and horses in Sainsburys Also Kate Bliss the Bargain Hunt lady She is lovely too My dad had a chat with Steven Gerrard outside a petrol station in Liverpool Any musical buffs I'm second cousin to this guy http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingsize_Taylor_and_the_Dominoes
A few years ago I was in a slightly awkward situation with John McGuinness and and untaxed Mercedes Vito. McGuinness claim No2 I have boned the same vagina as Paddy McGuinness. (Not at the same time)
