Got Myself A Tuono Factory

Discussion in 'Other Bikes' started by ResB1299, Feb 23, 2023.

  1. Shouldn't be that much.... Not sure where in the world you are but go to aprilia performance.... I'm guessing about 300 all in... They're so well versed at it, it's a drive in drive out service.... Mine was done once by fowlers but I stripped the whole lot apart first and then took it down there...

  2. I had the earlier (2014) Tuono 1000 v4 and told by CMW in Chichester it's typically £800-£1000 for the valve check/shim service. They had just done one that came in at £960. Together with that cost and the scare stories about valve recession on the aprilia v4 engine I sold the bike and bought a Bayliss v2 although I know the Ducati valve service can cost about the same.

  3. Great bikes, I had a 2017, now have the 2022. I think I actually preferred the older bike.

  4. Still waiting for a break in the weather to pick mine up. But I do prefer the older colour schemes though.

  5. Sorry, for a moment there I thought you were referring to the 1994 '916' I bought new when they were first released - electrics on that were a bit iffy to say the least.

  6. Agreed the issue historically isn't unique to Aprilia. My Ducati 750 F1 fried it's entire charging circuit as well 4 years ago, but that was 1980's design/technology.

  7. New (to me) to arrive this week if the weather stays dry for longer than 2 hours!:D

  8. Or, if you are in the South of England, John at BikersWorld in East Grinstead is superb on the V4s... he has raced them successfully for many years. Very reasonable.
My 2012 RSV4 Factory was a peach for the 6 years that I ran it.
Agree with the other comments re suspension set up (and servicing etc).
Good luck, your bike looks amazing.

  9. Mine was great for touring. One of the best bikes I’ve had and a great alternative to a superbike and better for road riding. Imho

  10. :upyeah::upyeah::upyeah:
In sunny Yorkshire, but without the sun. Whilst still under warranty I’ll probably stick with the main dealer but could do with an independent Tuono specialist when the time comes.

  11. You live in Yorkshire you’ll have to wait a while for no rain.

  12. First thing I would do at service time is to ask if they can permanently delete the “Top Speed” shown in every ride. Asking for trouble I think (mine was always triple figures, every ride). Luckily I live on a long private road. :innocent:

  13. Must be an Aprilia thing my lads 50 shows max speed, but then it shouldn’t go faster than 30 anyway.

  14. I never knew it did that! :astonished::poop: Thanks for the heads up :upyeah:

  15. So, weather looks like it ain’t playing ball so it’s getting delivered. :) What to buy for it first?

  16. Get some Matt carbon fibre on it. Mudguard, hugger and chainguard.

  17. It’s next set of tyres, you’ll be lucky to get 1500 miles out of a rear.

  19. Oh Jesus, what have I bought :D looking forward to the summer already :upyeah:

  20. I was just thinking the exact same thing :upyeah: Any recommendations for who’s carbon to go for? Ilmberger seems pretty good but also seems a lot more expensive compared to others. I’ve never really bought carbon accessories before so a little in the dark insofar as quality is concerned. Any pointers would be great :upyeah:
