Really, neither want nor need. I need race shift though as I'd have a right drama reverting back and as we all know it's dangerous.
There used to be a forum discount code for these boys. https://conquestracingltd.com/product/ducabike-ducati-panigale-rearsets-pr119903/
IIRC On the older bikes you had to buy a reverse shift QS and flip the top linkage 180 on the gearbox spline to convert the stock rearsets to GP shift. If you're not bovvered about the bling, it might be worth waiting till you get the bike to see if it works. I think if the new bike's shifter is up and down you might be able to flip the top link over and get yr GP shift on the cheap an retain QS.
Sounds good to me bud, I’ll get in there as soon as their demonstrators in and do some digging, will post findings on here.
I really find it hard to understand how people can be so shit at what they do for a living! The pic below shows the V2 - it’s shifter linkage/footrest looks the same as the stock 959 which means you can’t use GP shift out of the box. The V4s etc has a linkage with two positions so you can switch between shift patterns - the cheapest option if you aren’t bother about bling is to get a used v4s setup. It might even be possible to just buy the shift lever - part no 45613411aa and fit it to the stock V2. Below is V4s V4 lever showing bottom hole - connect shift rod here for GP shift link to photo steps to switch to GP shift https://knucko.blogspot.com/2019/02/blog-post.html
Yeah I know mate it does brake me sometimes, seemed quite flabbergasted when I asked whether I'd need the Gucci Rear sets attached to the build to get R shift, not like I asked for him to draw me a diagram of a functioning desmodromic valve or anything. Thanks for the detail. Bugger, would of though they'd maybe stuck the same set up form the V4 on there. Still, as my only problem atm, it's a nice problem to have lol.
I don’t think so - moving the linkage connection point just reverses the direction of travel - push down with toes pulls the gear shaft instead of pushing it in standard configuration. edit - sorry wrong response - for some reason your picture didn’t come up for me before! yes I guess thus could be reversed to achieve the same thing - as long as the shift arm could be extended long enough to reach? And clearances around shock / shock mount were enough - I just looked on the 959 - I couldn’t do it as I have the R-G crash protectors fitted and the mountings get in the way - it might work without but would be very tight.
“Plug&Play reverse quick-shift designed for bike track use. It can be fitted on standard footpegs only. The racing footpegs are fitted with standard DQS in the reverse configuration.” A work-around for the stock linkage.
as others have said, careful when buying the insurance. I've received emails and seen on FB from FE that they won't let you play without adequate insurance. You don't have to use their's but they have a list of non-approved now.
This is a great explanation and guide as to the fitting of the older reverse shift kit. Also answers the question as to why you can’t just flip the standard gearbox arm
Going over old ground by the looks of it! https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/reverse-shift-1299-r-kit.43285/ Cheapest option yet if you can get someone to machine the linkage down for free! If you don’t - I know a guy!
