shouldnt be out in the rain anyway, but if cought ( yesterday !!:Banghead: ) just stop and put it into my pocket, takes 10 seconds..
well maybe simplicity is not everything,, today after an hour and 70 mls it ( was also running a phone charger ) seems to have drained the battery !! bike would not start but managed to get jump from one of the race teams ),, and then on the same return journey the battery was back to 12.3 and bike stalled at roundabout,,, fortunatly it started again after sittting for ten minutes and got me last mile home,, funnily after sitting again for one hour and battery again reading 12.3 it did start,, got it garaged tonite with optimiser on it,, cant understand, new battery recently, hope not fkd charging system,, how do other people run their gps , phone chargers etc ???
The correct way should be via fused supply switched from the ignition, not direct to the battery. If your bike does not have an accessory supply already, then you need to add a high current relay controlled via a switch that is connected the ignition. This would need to be fused as well. Did you leave the phone charger connected with the ignition off?
Thanks for your reply D o S ,,,, no i did not leave anything connected or on ....... Yes i know the correct way would be throo ing and relay , that would then give a proper ignition/ key controlled feed , but i dont think i needed that luxury . Maybe i do !!!!!!!
Where were you reading the 12.3 from . If it was from the dash it looks too low . Pretty sure my dash reads about 13.8 when its running . Always has .
That sounds about right. Have you checked the high current cables for corrosion and that the battery terminals are tight?
