  1. So here are the wheels. Some hardware is now enroute, so hopefully I can get these built up, tyres refitted and balanced in the next few days.

  2. Though I won't be using these bleed nipples to bleed the brakes, as I have fitted Stahlbus banjo bolt bleeders to the front calipers, I wanted to change out the stock OEM bleed nipples with these Pro Bolt M8 stainless steel items. Once fitted I can forget about them. OEM Brembo rubber dust caps will be fitted once they are in place.

  4. I rather like them. Never been a fan of matte carbon but many will disagree with me, of that I am sure. Personally IMHO, clear coat brings out the detail and depth in the weave of the structure, which is primarily why I prefer it. Each to their own though, as I appreciate it is not everyone's cup of tea.

  5. Oooh, you should have put those carbon wheels under the tree and pretended you didn’t know about them… You’d have had a very special Christmas morning…. :D

  7. So these arrived yesterday morning. Brembo HPK Supersport fully floating 330mm gold brake discs. Could have gone for T-drive rotors but they are only produced in black. I won't get a chance to fit them until tomorrow evening, as I've other commitments this weekend, but should contrast well against the carbon rims.

  11. Not really practical on a road bike. But I did order something very special to go with the discs. I will reveal all at a later stage as there are some logistical issues to sort out in fitting them.

  12. Definitely not bottomless! Lots of overtime at work and over Xmas and New Year. Pays for the trinkets and goodies you see.

And you certainly make good use of your overtime pay.

  14. Another small part arrived today. This Rizoma oil filler cap.

Bracket comes in the kit, in case you want to attach locking wire to the cap.

Also received these new titanium front brake disc bolts from RSR Moto.

One last thing to arrive was this "Dykem" torque marker pen.

Discs have now been fitted and the wheels are ready to have the tyres refitted and then balanced. I was hoping to get them done tomorrow but work has ramped up recently in the run up to Xmas, so hopefully I might get them done either late tomorrow afternoon after I finish or Friday.

  15. Finally got the tyres refitted to the wheels and balanced using black wheel weights. Very pleased with the results.

  16. When my BST’s were brand new, tyre fitters were very nervous about marking them up. More so than me…

Jesus, just checked… mine are nine years old now o_O And still going strong. I hope…

  18. I had Carl Harrison fit them for me. He was, as always, super careful.

  19. Slight set back. I ordered a very trick part for the front end and it turns out it is not compatible with this particular bike. However I have reached out to the manufacturer and hopefully they will be able to make some modifications to them so they will fit. I won't say what they are just yet, but I have yet to see them fitted to a UK bike. With any luck I might get this resolved in the next few weeks once the festive period is behind us. It won't halt progress of the build in any way so that's one bonus I suppose.
