Whooohooo! Finally got out for a spin on the 848 this evening between chasing kids and dodging rain storms. Wow, it doesn't really compromise! I took it very easy as its been 25 years since I was on a sports bike but after an hour I started to give her some juice; all I can say is that I'm glad I didn't go for its big Brother! Iv'e spent 15 years on my KTM and its become an extension of me, I don't think, I just do. This was a new experience. I had to think about all the stuff that I usually take for granted, it's like being a learner again. Its going to be an interesting experience learning how to ride a sport bike again; cannae wait. I was only out for an hour as the fuel light came on and I'd forgotten my wallet. Also the nice Wolf leather jacket I got off EBAY is way too tight and I couldn't breath properly, not as slim as I thought I was...
When I got the 1098, I’d been off bikes for 9 years. Loved it immediately but there were a couple of moments: Accelerating away from a roundabout on a dual carriageway, couldn’t work out why the front felt so light, looked down after a couple of seconds to see the front wheel a foot off the ground-Lesson? It gets the power down a lot quicker than a VFR750!-Didn’t do that again!
