Hamilton Spoiler!

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by Arquebus, Nov 6, 2020.

  1. That’s what I thought. Reversing up a pit during a mass tyre change would result in carnage!! :astonished:

  2. Can he abuse his so called celebrity no
F1 is a sport, if a sports person wants to play politics then they should stand for election

  3. It seemed to me you suggested to be able to voice ones opinions you have to stand for office.
I voice my unelected opinion that even he can say what he likes. Same as my opinion, people are allowed to agree, disagree or just ignore it.

  4. He along with lots of other entertainers have voiced opinions on lots of subjects, if they truly wanted to make a difference then elected office is the way to do it
But then again maybe they prefer the pay checks

  5. Who wouldn't given the choice. Endless grief for not a lot of money or a easy life rolling in it.
I actually think ministers and MP's aren't payed enough. They run the country for 80k a year up to 150 for PM. Ok the current lot are excluded, they aren't worth the Smeg under my dick but 80k is middle management in a larger company.

  6. Bet you wouldn’t be saying that if he’d come out in support of Brexit (like Ian Botham did) or had been demanding statues of slave traders be reinstated!

  9. Problem with that I suppose is most of them have no experience of running anything zero!! Most of my lot here in Ireland are school teachers and career protesters but I do agree I'd not do the job for any money

  10. For real? You seem to spend your entire life (or at least your time on here) in a permanent grump, whining about something or other. You’re like a right wing Eeyore. In fact the only time I’ve ever seen you post anything remotely cheerful was when you bought an S4R recently, though I imagine it’s only a matter of time before you blame “woke lefties” because it picked up a puncture or you can’t fit a lithium battery. :D

  12. And I see you’re doing your usual trick of making personal jibes but then getting all butt-hurt and snowflakey about it when it comes back at you

  13. If you say so

  14. My god-son worked for Mercedes F1 at the start of the hybrid era (he's an electric motor engineer). He got on pretty well with everyone there - occasionally chatted with Nico Rosberg, got to talk to Niki Lauda once or twice...
I asked him if Hamilton ever came into the factory - his response was "yes.......... but everyone thinks he's a F***ING KN*B!"...

  15. A wealthy knob if you don’t mind.

That reminds me of a tour of duty in a police Land Rover in central London. My oppo had knocked the pa switch to on, but the volume was pretty low so we hadn’t noticed.
We were at a set of light beside an open top Roller. The driver was obese to say the least.
My oppo said fairly quietly to me “look at that fat Geezer in his Roller, it’s alright for some” as our windows were open.
The fat guy looked up at my oppo, and he said “Officer, VERY RICH fat Geezer, if you don’t mind” and he smiled and wafted away.

  16. Middle Management in a company doesn’t usually come with quite the same pension, book royalties, after dinner speaking, company directorships etc., so their pay isn’t that bad!

  17. Well... Hammi has become world champion, again... Zzzzzz...
Listening to him speak after the race and comparing him to the interview with newly crowned MotoGP champion Joan Mir I was struck by the difference in attitude and personality...

  18. What impresses me most about Hamilton is his drive and desire to win in an era when no one in their right mind gives two fucks about F1, I doubt I’d even bother turning up to race weekend if I was in his shoes

  19. Joan Mir is a breath of fresh air & deserves it this year, but it’s his first, he’s very young & he did it without Marquez around to win almost every race. Let’s see how he celebrates when he’s won 7 world titles like Hamilton has. As far as Hamilton goes, he showed again yesterday, that it’s not all about the car alone, he’s totally dominant in his sport & still doesn’t get the recognition from his countryman that he should imo.
