In 2002 I bought what was advertised as a Harley in a box. It was a 883 Sportster in large lumps. I lightly restored it and got it running. I remember my first shake down ride pulling into a car park about half a mile from my house thinking I hated it. I then rode it the half mile home again and by the time I got home I loved it. Still have it now. I just love the fact you can go as fast or as slow as you like on it and keeps up with my mates on their RD's.
I really, really hate Harley’s with loud exhausts, so unnecessary and offensive. oh yeah and when I’m abroad I wave to all other bikers…. (Except Harley’s)
I wave to all bikes and even scooter/moped riders as I feel we are all on two wheels and exposed to the elements and respect that fact. I don't mind if I don't get a wave back.
