Head Angle

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by Cream_Revenge, Oct 15, 2016.

  1. That's what I do.

  2. You done Bedford? I thought I was the only one! Good little (big) track.

  3. Ideally you'd have a lower shoulder. Trying to think who it was (Haslam or done old timer racer) who said 'how can Redding see thru the corner with his head so low?!'

  4. may well have been Ron as he is one of the very few top line ( well near ) riders who does / nt .. other one Giberneau ( sp? )

  5. There are a few, Rossi has only recently started getting his head that low. Bayliss is another that crosses his body like rutter. Works for him ;)

  6. ok , i dont do track,, but there is no reason why you can not get your head over when on the road, providing there is a place to put it ,, lampposts / brick walls / oncoming cars etc have to be considered :Banghead:

  7. from what i have seen it was Stoner who started that far reach, ( and that lill bit extra on exit ) but Rossi was not far behind,, now almost all do it ..

  9. Funny, this is actually an issue on the multi, as is usually by all the road up for corners because it's so tall and wide

  10. Last time I got that much lean 0.1 seconds later I was sliding through the outfield.

  11. Moto2 really changed how bikes are ridden in MGP and other classes. Extreme body position, backing it in, sliding around on entry and exit.

  12. is that you as well,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, obv i am not going to criticise you but to me that just looks all wrong !!!
of course maybe you are going round Marble Arch and watching for the big red bus !!

  13. Fpmsl if only!! That's the Master, who would have been MGP champ if given a proper chance alongside stoner

  14. just watched ( well most of ) Phillips Isle from 2000 , 500 s with Biagi, Capirosi , Laconi , Rossi ( looking v young ). Barros , McWilliams et all,, ok a previous generation / era , even then it was clear to see Rossi getting his head over,, not by much but the beginings,, only other one was Biagi ..by about the same amount . ( btw,, classic race :grinning:)

  15. I actually enjoyed it. It was my first trackday after 5 years off of bikes. It has plenty of width, plenty of useable runoff, a massively long back straight, is counter-clockwise for practicing left handers, and doesn't seem to suffer so much from the trackday lunatic syndrome (perhaps because there is no racing there). I will definitely be adding it to the calendar again next year.

  16. I did it beginning of this month. Really liked it but couldn't get the chicane right (after the hairpin left, not after the back straight).

  17. NO SPOILER WARNING NECESSARY...................
just wondering what angle Vallys head is at today ???

  18. Ideally you slow down through it. I have some video, but I was a bit shaky considering the bike was a month old and I hadn't been on one in 5 years! Interestingly (or not), you can see my head position reflecting on the screen....

  19. very good Mr Ron Jolley,, some revealing images ( :grinning: ) and numbers on the dash there,, seem a little more commtited / confident on the right handers..

  20. What group was that?

What's the flashing light middle of dash mid corner, TC?

Were you taking it easy on the straight as my 999 was seeing 150?
