  2. Haha

    Cheers mate

  3. they are a joke to work on. think u can replace screen without removing top fairing, but the hidden nose beak plug is a right bugger, until u know its there.

  4. They said that on the odd occasion fitting full system and then up map at first service plays havoc and map dont load properly, they said it can be sorted but its a right pain so they want to play safe not sure how much of that I believe but hey ho as long as I have it for the summer I don't care.
Its not as if I can go round giving it some till after first service anyway and even then got to take it up gradually.

  5. Fitting screen on 848 evo was pish as well. Can you really do it without taking nose cone off? HOW?

  6. Tell me about it!! Got there in the end though lol!

Now for the heat shield haha

  7. I will let my dealer sort that out while he is fitting full system :)

  8. Haha mate I can't fault you there lol

  9. Just looking at weather down here for weekend it's pissing down so won't be covering any miles :(

  10. Tbh mate I very much doubt there will be many miles covered by any of us

  11. Well I ran my 899 in over December and January 2013-2014 I was hoping I would get away with it this year but maybe not fingers crossed I get the chance before spring comes in.

  12. get a hack, your magnesium bits will look like cast iron in 2 years.

  13. Got tbh mate I really hope I manage the run in miles pre-summer as really want to see what it's all about!! Guess trying some new limits with this one which I'm sure your all doing yourselfs

  14. I've got a hack, it's an 848 streetfighter, I need to run the 1199 in and want it done before spring.

  15. I have always had the mid range bikes, 749, 848's, 899.
The 899 was really nice but it felt like it had no grunt in mid range, where as the 848 Evo used to kick me up the arse. So yeah I am dying to see what this thing will do, I could feel the power bubbling up, just as you get to 6k and then have to back off :(

  16. me too, the last was a 749r, that (felt) like it had as much mid range as the fanigale, but it didnt have the 2 stroke tendencies at the top end, which is so refreshing from boring in line 4s.
Have you had any smoking on start up?

  17. its funny, treads always go off topic, and theres absolutely nothing you can do about it! (probably)

  18. I try not to do burn outs in the car park :)
My 899 used to smoke on start up for a couple of mins.
The 1199 has done the same and nearly gassed myself in the garage, smells really rich.

  19. when you look at the pistons, theres no wonder! some say a good thrashing through all gears and revs seats the rings and stops the smoking.
Im going to try the 15-50 instread of the 10-40, some say, (Clarkson voice) it stops the smoke on start up.
Maybe it really is a 2 stroke!

  20. It only last a couple of mins whilst warming up, the rings are less material so warm quicker and expand so should sit nice and tight in the bore. If it didn't smoke you would think fuck has it dumped its oil somewhere.
