1200 DVT Heated Grips

  1. Topbox,
If you are looking for a review for heated gloves I am on the second pair of gerbings. The first one lasted 4 years and only had to buy a second one because I sold the first pair with the bike thinking that I wouldn't ride so soon.Wrong! The current model is a gerbing XRS12, They are great heating the whole of your hands. Used at negative temperatures and no problem at all, actually never used the highest setting as it would cause burns to the skin.
Heated grips on DVT 15 to 17 suffered a modification from previous mods due to the glue was melting because of it was too hot. What ducati did instead of develop a new adhesive? Lowered the temperature set point! Great! It is useless IMO.
Don't know about the new 1260 if they sorted.

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  2. Gerbing xrs12 there pretty good and keep all your hand warm only problem I have the fingers are a bit long

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  3. Thanks guys, all good reconnaissance.

Ducati lowering the temperature on the grips.... poor form!

  4. FYI the heated grips on the 1260 are fine, similar to the early 2010, nice and toastie

  5. Yes you just wire in the new grips, not the controller, the original bike controller remains in use,

  6. Just asked on another thread, but thinking you experience may answer the question. Could they not have fitted the newer grips fitted to later models (supposedly better) to your 2017 DVT? Just thinking about having them done but its a lot of money omly to be disappointed!
