Just visited local Hein Gericke (at Gants Hill, Ilford) today. Signs up: "Clearance Sale". Quite a lot of customers turning up, more than usual. Staff were a bit depressed. The range of stock (sizes and colours etc) was a bit patchy. I bought a pair of waterproof gloves XXL, and the price was 20% knocked off. Bought on the basis of 'no returns, no exchanges'. Actually you can probably get better bargains at the main bike shows, NEC & ExCel.
Very sad.... No one gives seems to give a fook either, just chance to grab another cheap pair of gloves...
Thats what happens when you dont stay competative in the market or change your business model to suit the state of the economy.
Went to HG in Edinburgh , as I was passing this morning . Seems like 10% off most things ie helmets etc and 20% off other clothing ie a £500 waterproof taurag jacket down to a mere £399.99 . I passed on all there sale items . Still to expensive.
Kinda like HG's usual idea for a promotion - only get money off if you spend a fortune. Their stuff is now too dear and you're not going to spend that sort of cash with no warranty.
If there was ever a time when those baffoons in Brussels need reminding of is we don't need anymore legistlation of the motorcycle industry
Same here. No where near enough discount when you think there is realistically no warramty on any of the stuff. Went up to infinity and found 30% of some end of lines which were better value. Kinda sums up why they are bust
this was my first jacket from them it came from Germany. Back in 1990 I still have it . Gutted as I've always liked their kit .... Got me through years of riding and used it as my daily jacket for years as well. Glad I brought my gloves when I did.
A business contact of mine is handling the closing down marketing 40% off, sure there must be some good bargains at that discount, even if I buy a few years stock of SDOC.
