Hello All I'm Back After A Long Break!!!

Discussion in 'Newbies Hangout' started by Dave dunlop, Aug 24, 2018.

  1. Not had the chance to get on track yet but I would imagine it would be.
The blade was a sweet handling bike and had more than enough power but after a trip to the Ardennes earlier in the year following a lad who was also on the trip on a 1199 Panigale, I saw how different it was to ride and the lack of braking needed into the hairpins compared to me on my blade.
I’d never had a twin before but thought I best try one before I’m too old for sports bikes and took the plunge on a 1299 with very little mileage on it.
I’ve found the Duke to handle just as well but the biggest improvements I’ve found is braking power and power delivery, which I’m sure would transfer to the track.
It’s worth noting that my Blade was a 2010 (only 11k miles though) with no rider aides and that the Duke is 6 years newer and has a lot of tech, so that could be another reason for it feeling so much better.
