Hello From First Time Ducati Owner (this Is My Second Bike!)

Discussion in 'Newbies Hangout' started by dubcat, Aug 14, 2016.

  1. I finally got mine on the road also, first time I've owned one like yours, what are we going to do about mirrors? :smileys: I see that some people put those extenders on but I'm not sure even that would work that well. I'm tempted to try a handlebar end Mirror a la Ricky X. The other thing I miss is not being able to rest my knees ( just for a bit of temporary relief on my neck) on the tops of the side fairings like you can a 748/916/996/998. It's definitely a young persons motorcycle, so I feel privileged to be just about "hanging on in there"

  2. I like this forum because people don't shoot you down for having a bike like that early on.

I passed my test and immediately got a super sport bike. you are the master of your destiny and as long as you know your names not Rossi and behave yourself and ride at your pace, you'll be fine.

    Enjoy mate!

  3. Not tried that one. Surely you want your partners knees resting on your neck??

  4. I know what you mean about the mirrors! Glad it isn't just me then :)

I find that if you contort yourself you can sort of get out of your own reflection but it is not easy. I will persevere with that before modifying the bike.

I've only done 60 miles so not felt the leg fatigue you are describing. However riding the bike is definitely the equivalent of a Pilate's session :) I try to grip the tank with my knees to take pressure off my wrists so hopefully my core and inner leg muscles will get a workout :)
