  1. Thanks. Regular bike meets there most weekends and at Jack's Cafe. I don't often stop as I would rather be riding when I get the opportunity but always up for meeting new people and shooting the breeze about bikes, cars, MotoGP, BSB, WSB etc etc

  2. Yellow there:upyeah:

  3. My SPS did have the front number board but I had the nose repainted after a trip to Wales - contracted a severe and distressing outbreak of pebble dashing from a newly resurfaced road!! Your bike looks in fabulous condition. Great job.

  4. Greetings.

  5. I don't know the area that well but don't live too far away so I will be there if I can. It's been a while since I've had a bike on the road and I bought this one for sunny sundays not for thrashing on back roads.

  8. I did think I had read that yours was a 998S. They also changed the frame to a silver colour in the later models in addition to the Testastretta engine. Cool. Idly dreamt of acquiring a 998R in the past but it was just that - a dream. I posted a pic of my bike earlier in this thread. Its off to Ducati Coventry for its biennial service, belt change, MOT etc on Tuesday.

  9. Yes, I clicked "Like it" under the post I recall, very nice too!

I think the "s" has more bhp than the stock 988, according to wiki the 998"S" has a similar spec motor to the 996R, cams etc..

This engine has had further engine work. I am not sure if that is good or bad really. I don't need the extra (peak) power and would perhaps choose low down, mid range over top end bhp. It is not a track bike and I plan to keep it, maybe the more stock it is, the more desirable it would be long term.

Perhaps see some of you guys about at some point then :)

  10. Completely agree about torque versus BHP. Mine is completely stock and original apart from a few addons and I have had it for 15 years ish and has only been used on a few major outings (e.g. Wales which I enjoyed immensely but was distraught at the pebble dashing) and dry weekend, local runs. Now I use the Multistrada more than the 996 also because I don't ride it often enough and if you are not in the zone, the 996 makes me feel like a total novice!! I probably am. o_O
