  1. Haha - Touché! He was actually an Italian by birth - and so we have come full circle - chat about Ducati anyone?:)

  4. It's a van isn't it?

  5. I think that was a fiat,, but ducati originally started making radios in their Panigali factory.. ( youd think with their electronics background they would have better electrickery !! )

  6. Nice one glad to see another one being ridden as they seem to be attracting the collectors more and more now.I went the 5 spoke aluminium marchesini route and there is not all that much difference so ended up upgrading again.Maybe a nice set of magnesium marchesinis would see a transformation in handling. That way you can put the standard brembos away and keep in good condition and refit if you ever come to sell it.

My 916sps is a much tamer animal in the winter months due to less grip and wheel spin.Come spring you will really notice the difference when you wind the throttle to the stop. They have much more character to the motor than the new ducatis. The SPS versions are quite different to a BP as they like to rev more and make the power slighty higher.More like a revy 748 but with masses of midrange grunt then it goes mental after 6,000 rpm.

A proper ducati.None of this electronic rider aids or silky smooth jap bike power delivery.Just bags of uncivilised grunt.A loud dry clutch and the booming very raw sounding desmoquattro sps engine via the full termi system.

  7. Welcome, it gets harder to get a word in nowadays on this site.

  8. It's all sub contracted out.
But you'd expect the QA to be better.
Still they use the best automotive connectors on the newer bikes, some of the switch gear could be better.

  9. Welcome.

It is, as Matt said, good to see one bought with intent to ride, mine should turn the clock past 40,000 this year if the weather is good.
Yours looks to be in fine condition, but does appear to be very upright if it is on the sidestand. Has the ride height been set very low for one who is short in the leg?
Lighter wheels are definitely a plus, although I have not managed to justify the cost/find a bargain in my 10 years of SPS ownership, so mine is still on the old 3 - spokes, but I did experience the benefits of Dymags on a previous bike.

    Enjoy your new toy.

  10. The bike hasn't been lowered to my knowledge but the headstock is set in the race position, if that makes any difference? Bike is on the paddock stand just now but I will need to go and investigate tomorrow - it's hopefully just the angle of the photo!

  11. A photo taken by previous owner - seems to be enjoying a good slouch to one side here.

  12. That outdoor picture looks normal and much less worrying.

  13. 40.000 miles on a 916sps nice one.Mine has just reached 34,000.They seem a lot more reliable than some of the newer ducatis also if the multi 1200 is anything to go by.Mine runs better than when I purchased it with 13000 on the clock.

Think there was a guy with 998R on here that clocked around 50,000 before he retired it to his living room and purchased another one.

Great to see em being used.
