The much maligned Merthyr! However, I like Merthyr, it's got character, soul and a huge history and tradition and incidentally, having the largest population in Wales towards the end of the 19th Century, was unofficially considered the capital of Wales.
The development/exploitation of the Merthyr Valley and South Wales generally started with “Dirty Money” from the African Slave and Tobacco Trades. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-south-east-wales-33596112
I think that there are very few countries or civilisations, none that I can think of anyway, which at some point in their history who have not indulged / profited from the enslavement of other peoples and the trading of commodities. The BBC in its customary and irritating way focuses only on British transgressions whilst other countries, particularly non Caucasian, seem to have a free pass.
Damn! Bluff called now I have to fold and confess that down here in Carmarthenshire we only have bags. ☹️. Thanks for the welcome.
Ok, I could claim to be binless but I'll play nice. I get it that you want to see my bin(s); do I pm you with a pic or ....... what?
