  1. Good one!
    :)

  2. Was Will’s mother related to the Witch of Wookey Hole perchance?

  3. I don't think so, and I never got to know her name.:)

  4. It’s been raining constantly since 11 yesterday
    We have flood water everywhere
Two cottages on the main road have been flooded from road water not being able to go down storm drains as they are full!!
The council really need to sort themselves out keeping these things clean
The fire brigade have been there trying to get rid of the water
Never seen it before flooding there

  5. It’s not like the local farmers are trying to make the roads look just like their ploughed fields round here!

  6. That has been a problem here too with mud on the road
The road had to be closed to clean it all up before there was a serious accident

  7. Yep, I'm familiar with that expression too.

Your family doesn't hail from Cornwall by any chance?

  8. no Loz, that's the one area that I don't have much of a link with, most recent is Ireland and Scotland.

  9. rain? try snow. brr. the hills are white today. and im sawing wood anyhoo.

  10. Not sure were it came from then. Had a Cornish landlady who introduced me to that phrase.

  11. that's made it far more interesting for me, as the associated background is patchy now, could be known phrase or just a coincidence - Here's to the Mothers of Will everywhere

  12. Back from a 4 day camping trip to Weymouth with my son, yes it was a bit touch and go, weather was ok for 3 days until the weather turned, we returned from a day trip out to find our tent rather distraught, wind was blowing from the sea directly into our 6 man tent which had collapsed! knowing that we could not sleep in it we tried to retrieve some belongings like clothes and cooking equipment and so on. It was going fairly well until we opened up the living quarters to get sleeping bags and clothing out, this is when it got dangerous and I could not hold the tent against the prevailing wind blast. less than 3 minutes arriving it turned into a serious issue and I said to my boy get out because the fibreglass poles were shredded and posed an injury so we let it go.... and boy it took of like a kite complete with beds lights tables and other camping stuff, it hit a electrified fence and I decided I was not touching that!! We booked into a hotel late last night because it was too late to travel back home and we were soaked through! Total loss of the tent and equipment left me out of pocket some £1k but we thoroughly enjoyed it, but my bank balance did not!!
Certainly something my boy will remember the rest of his life with.

  17. Pics pls Fin. I like the snow:) and we don’t get it here; too balmy what with that Gulf Stream thingy.

  18. Get some tidal energy collection going on out there, Paul. The Gulf Stream will eventually get disrupted and diverted (just like small amounts of CO2 released in the atmosphere will completely change the climate) and you'll see lots and lots of snow!

  19. If that happens the whole of the geographic British Isles will be f**ked; and it probably will happen but on a morbid note I’ll probably be long gone by then.

  20. Yeah, but Green energy, Paul. Green energy!
