Thanks for the offer @Android853sp , but I’m looking for a 1 piece type and as thin as possible because I don’t have a lot of spare room in my leathers, I was thinking of something like this- But I know if it’s too thick I won’t use the bugger ?
Have a spare one of these at a reasonable rate (!) 59 years old, and not dead yet! This post to be updated in the future.
Blackbird hit my right bicep earlier this year heading towards 90mph on a local A road, I saw it the split second as it flew literally in front of my chest, I think the wind suck it back between my right arm and chest, nearly ripped my hand off the bars with the impact. Both arm and ribs were in in pain, although the arm took the brunt of the blow. Got home to be greeted by my wife, her smile soon changed to the look of horror as my leathers were covered in fresh blood.
I have a pair of these in my Dainese textiles, only add a little bulk/weight. Had a pheasant strike a couple of years ago at about 70, hit my shoulder though. Managed to stay on, hurt for the rest of the day but the pheasant was, I'm pretty certain, a gonner. No poo but a lot of brown dust and feathers and it tumbled into the hedge.
Bloody Northern pussies (can I say that?!) with yer sparrows, blackbirds an pheasants! Look at these mofo's running around Hertfordshire! Buggers are faster than me on my Pani!
Pffft Up north they would have been feathered and cooked by now not running rampant while you fairies down south run to get your cardys and skirts on
Aye, oop north they would have been collared sharpish as a free substitute for the Christmas Turkey !
Rolls Royce used to, or still do test their engines by firing chicken sized birds into a running engine to determine the impact of bird strike on fan blades. Fascinating... unless you’re a chicken.
Also Airbus/Boeing. It’s a certification requirement to show that the wing leading edges can sustain an impact without penetrating the wing fuel tank.
I hit a one in the X6 at around 65mph last year - smashed the front grill and bonnet right in so I think you have been a very lucky boy .....
I can well believe that it destroyed the front of your BM, I’m still feeling pretty tender around the chest area and it feels a bit tight breathing, so I’m just taking it easy this week, no gym or pushy etc. The bruising is starting to drain out a bit now, gone a yellowy brownish colour, very autumnal you can see below here, the bird was flying across me from right to left when I hit it, the main impact was on my right pec where you can see various blood blisters and bruising collecting at the bottom, but higher up on my left pec you can see the mark left by it’s head ! Tried my best not to get my nipples in shot as I don’t want this pic ending up in somebody’s “Wank-Bank” , cos I’ve heard there’s some right sexual deviants on this site !!
Aye, but there's definite cuppage...and that'll do for me... Maybe we should start a thread on motorcycle bruises and other injuries... I've a cracker of a pic from when I fell off motorcrossing..took 2 years to recover!
Think you should post that pic in the 'weird or strangely attractive thread' Glad you're OK though, could have been a lot worse.
I’m 5’11”, weigh 12st 4lbs and have a 32” waist, BUT…..….I’m 64 and a few things are starting to head South, …might need a “Nut-bra” first ! I’ve a good chance of winning the accident thread as well after an enforced get off in 2004 !
